Grama Volunteers and Ward Volunteers Recruitment in AP – Complete Details

AP Government has announced Grama Volunteers and Ward Volunteers Recruitment Notification 2020. The details of vacancies will be announced at the district level by MPDOs and Municipal authorities in Urban areas. Guidelines regarding age, qualifications, selection procedure and appointment have been issued. See the details below:

Number of vacancies:

It is notified by the Government of AP that the number of vacancies will be released by MPDOs and Municipal Commissioners after ascertaining various factors at the ground level.

Age Requirement:
The applicants for Grama Volunteers and Ward Volunteers shall be of at least 18 years of age as on 01.01.2020 and shall have not exceeded 35 years.

Online Applications:

The interested and eligible candidates shall apply online through Website link provided by the Government at https://gswsvolunteer.apcfss.in/

Rule of Reservations:

Reservations are applicable as per the rules of Government. 50 percent of total vacancies will be reserved for women candidates. Reservations for other communities like SCs and STs also will be followed as per guidelines.

Grama / Ward Volunteers Recruitment Schedule 2020:

Notification inviting applications : 20 April 2020
Receipt of applications: 20 April 2020 to 24 April 2020
Scrutiny of applications By 25 April 2020
Interviews by selection committees: 27 April 2020 to 29 April 2020
Intimation letters to selected volunteers: 27 April 2020 to 29 April 2020
Positioning of volunteers: 01 May 2020

Ward Volunteers Last Date Extended – Qualifications and Interview Schedule

Candidates aspiring to become ward volunteers in Andhra Pradesh can apply online for the same by 10th July 2019. Government of AP has extended the last date to submit online applications for these posts.

Qualification is Intermediate:

AP Government also slashed educational qualifications for ward volunteers posts. Intermediate is the required qualification for these vacancies. Earlier it was decided to go with Degree as minimum qualification. After poor response from the candidates, the qualification is reduced.

9 lakhs applications for village / ward volunteers:

As on 5th July, the last date for online applications, more than 9 lakhs applications were received by the Government for 1.7 lakhs posts. Out of these, about 8 lakhs applications are approved and more than 40000 applications were rejected.

Another chance:

Candidates whose applications were rejected for various reasons can edit the details and apply again for the reconsideration. They can apply again by 8th July 2019.

Interview Schedule:

Interviews for grama volunteers / village volunteers will be held from 11th July 2019. Detailed schedule will be available with district authorities. Interviews will be conducted from 10 AM to 5 PM on the scheduled days.
