Grama Volunteers and Ward Volunteers Recruitment in AP – Complete Details

AP Government has announced Grama Volunteers and Ward Volunteers Recruitment Notification 2020. The details of vacancies will be announced at the district level by MPDOs and Municipal authorities in Urban areas. Guidelines regarding age, qualifications, selection procedure and appointment have been issued. See the details below:

Number of vacancies:

It is notified by the Government of AP that the number of vacancies will be released by MPDOs and Municipal Commissioners after ascertaining various factors at the ground level.

Age Requirement:
The applicants for Grama Volunteers and Ward Volunteers shall be of at least 18 years of age as on 01.01.2020 and shall have not exceeded 35 years.

Rule of Reservations:

Reservations are applicable as per the rules of Government. 50 percent of total vacancies will be reserved for women candidates. Reservations for other communities like SCs and STs also will be followed as per guidelines.

Grama Volunteers, Ward Volunteers Recruitment in AP – Apply Online

Government of AP has announced recruitment of 10700 grama / ward volunteers across the state of Andhra Pradesh. Application submission at the district level will start from 20th April 2020 and the total recruitment process will be completed by 1st May 2020. Government of AP has been appreciated by many as the volunteers system has been efficient in delivering essential services to the poor during lockdown.

Vacancies in rural and urban areas:

In villages, Grama volunteers posts will be filled by MPDOs. In urban areas, ward volunteers posts will be filled by municipal commissioners. Notification also will be issued by respective officials after collecting information on vacancies. AP Government has filled as many as 1 lakh volunteers in 2019.

Details of vacancies:

About 5200 vacancies in rural areas and 5500 vacancies in urban areas are identified by the Government. 50 percent of the posts will be reserved for women candidates. Mandal and village wise vacancies will be notified by MPDOs in the notifications.

Personal Interviews:

Interviews will be conducted at the mandal level for shortlisted candidates. 100 marks will be alloted for interviews. Candidates are expected to have good understanding of government schemes, navaratnalu etc. Marks are distributed as follows:

Knowledge of Govt Schemes: 25 marks
Participation in Government schemes and social service: 25 marks
Leadership skills and communication skills: 25 marks
Other skills: 25 marks

Age criteria:

Age of the candidates should be between 18 – 35 years as on 1st January 2020.
