NIPER Notification for Ph.D. Admissions 2012-13

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education (NIPER) has issued admission notification for Ph.D. programme being offered in various disciplines for the academic year 2012-13. NIPER is a premier institute for education, training and research in pharmaceutical and other related subjects. Admission for Ph.D. Program will be based on the combined merit obtained in the written test and interview conducted by NIPER. The NIPER has academic and research centers at Chandigarh (SAS Nagar- Punjab), Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Hajipur, Guwahati and Rae Barelli (Uttar Pradesh). The research programmes are offered in the the disciplines of Chemical, Biological and Pharmaceutical Sciences. NIPER conducts joint admissions for all its campuses. Details of disciplines offered in various campuses and application procedure are given below:

Biological Sciences:
1) Pharmacology and Toxicology: Eligibility: M.S. (Pharm.)/ M.Pharm./ M.Sc. (Pharmacology)/ M.V.Sc./M.D.
2) Biotechnology: Eligibility: M.S. (Pharm.)/M.Pharm./ M.Sc. (Life Science)
3) Pharmaceutical Technology (Biotechnology): Eligibility: M.S. (Pharm.)/ M.Pharm./ M.Sc. (Life Science)

Pharmaceutical Sciences:
1) Pharmaceutics: Eligibility: M.S. (Pharm.)/ M.Pharm
2) Pharmaceutical Technology (Formulations): Eligibility: M.S. (Pharm.)/ M.Pharm.

Chemical Sciences:
1) Medicinal Chemistry: Eligibility: M.S. (Pharm.)/ M.Pharm./ M.Sc.(Organic Chemistry)
2) Natural Products: Eligibility: M.S. (Pharm.)/M.Pharm./ M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry)

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have M.Pharma/ MS (Pharma)/ Masters in concerned discipline of Pharmacy or equivalent. They should have minimum 60 percent aggregate marks. Candidates also need valid valid GATE/ NET scores. Those studying their final year of qualifying degree can also apply. NIPER shall conduct and entrance exam with a duration of 2 hours. There will be two sections. Section-I will consist of questions on general pharmaceutical sciences and Section-II will contain questions on specialization in the concerned discipline.

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the premier institute for Pharma Education in India. NIPER has centers at SAS Nagar (Mohali), Hyderabad, Ahmadabad, Hajipur, Kolkata, Guwhati and Rae Barelli. NIPER offer MS, M.Tech. MBA and M.Pharm with Pharmaceutical specialisation. To succeed in NIPER JEE:

NIPER conducts JEE for admission to PG courses. The candidate who appears for NIPER JEE is expected to possess understanding of the basic concepts of Pharmacy at the degree (B.Pharm) level. A thorough knowledge of the basic principles of Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Physical Pharmacy, Physiology, Biochemistry and organic chemistry is needed. In addition the candidate is expected to have an up to date knowledge on current news related to drug licensing, new drugs that are released in the market, knowledge about IPR related issues of drugs and their development.

Choosing the right post graduation programme after graduation (B.Pharmacy) is a turning point in one’s life. Hence, the student who is serious about writing NIPER JEE exam should spend at least 5 to 6 hrs a day on the preparation.

NIPER JEE 2011 Dates and Results:

NIPER JEE online entrance examination will be conducted on 3rd July 2011 from 10.00 to 12.00 noon. The last date for online registration is 15th June, 2011. The last date of receipt of filled registration form along with demand draft is 22nd June, 2011.The date of Declaration of result of written test (website-www.niper.gov.in/niperjee2011.html) is 7th July, 2011.
