Medical Coding and Medical Transcription after B.Pharmacy

Pharma field is growing in the country giving Philip to the growth of opportunities to Pharma graduates.  There are various job oriented professional courses for pharmacy candidates. Here is a question posted by a student regarding careers in pharma field.

I am studying final year B.Pharmacy course. What courses I should pursue after completing this? What courses are good among medical coding, pharmaco – vigilance, industrial training?

Number of pharmacy colleges have been more than doubled in the country due to growth of pharma industry. This has also led to the growth of opportunities for the qualified candidates in pharmacy stream. Students have to pursue research courses to get good opportunities.

Courses Available:

B.Pharmacy candidates can pursue GPAT, PG in Pharmacy etc. NIPER, University of Hyderabad are offering Pharmacy in Healthcare Management. NIPER conducts national level joint entrance for admission into various PG courses in pharmacy.

Medical Coding:

Medical coding is another job oriented course for pharmacy graduates. You can pursue Certified Professional Coder, Certified Out Patient Coder, CRC, CIC, Medical Documentation courses to enter into medical coding field.

Medical Transcription:

This is another professional course for pharmacy graduates. Training in medical transcription along with placements also available in various institutions in Hyderabad, Bengalore, Chennai and other cities. You can also consider pharmaco – vigilance to enter in industry related jobs.

CMAT 2016 and GPAT 2016 Notifications for Management and Pharmacy Admissions

AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), New Delhi has announced notification for national level computer based Common Management Admission Test (CMAT-2016) and Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT -2016) for the academic year 2016-17. The entrance exams will be held on 17 January 2016.

CMAT – 2016 Eligibility: Candidates should be Graduates in any discipline or final year students of Graduation for which results will be declared before the commencement of admission for academic year 2016-17.

GPAT – 2016 Eligibility: Candidates need Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy and those who are in the final year of B.Pharmacy are also eligible to apply.

Interested candidates can apply online only through the AICTE website. Last date for the submission of online applications is 10 December 2015. Admission into participating institutions of management and pharmacy PG courses will be through marks in respective entrance exams and other procedures.
