NEET – PG and NEET – MDS Exams in November, December 2016

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has finalised the dates of NEET – PG 2016 examination for admission into medical PG / PG Diploma programmes for the academic year 2017-18.

The NEET – PG will be held between 5 – 13 December 2016 in 41 cities and 86 exam centers across the country. Entrance exam for MDS will be held between 30 November – 3 December 2016.

NEET – PG will be considered to fill 50 percent seats in all medical PG seats in MD, MS, PG Diploma courses in all the states in India, including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir and union territories.

NEET – PG, NEET – MDS websites will be available soon for the candidates from 24th September 2016. Candidates can register online for these exam from 26th September to 31st October 2016.

The premier medical institutions such as AIIMS, PGIMER, Chandigarh, JIPMER, NIMHANS, Sri Chitra Institute do not come under the purview of NEET examinations and they conduct their own admission process.

NEET – PG Exam Structure, Cut Offs and Subject wise Questions 2013

The first NEET – PG Examinations is going to a tough one as the examination structure and minimum cut off marks are higher than expected. Candidates will have no other option to go through the all subjects. NEET PG 2013 is an all India level entrance examination for admission to MD / MS programmes for the academic year 2013-14. Following are details of NEET – PG 2013 exam structure, subject wise marks analysis and cut off percentiles for various categories.

The NEET – PG 2012 will be a much tougher for the student of Andhra Pradesh as there is huge difference between the syllabus prescribed for previous exam conducted by NTR University of Health Sciences and the present NEET PG exam. NTR University examination emphasized on the final year syllabus. But in NEET PG candidates will have to study all the subjects from 1st to final year of the course.

Exam structure: NEET PG will consist of questions for 240 marks. Out of these questions, Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry will have 20 questions each thus making a total of 60 marks. Marks for other subjects are as follows:
1) Pathology, Microbiology and Pharmacology: 15 marks each
2) Forensic Medicine: 9 marks
3) NPM: 20 marks
4) General Medicine and Surgery: 21 marks for each subject.
5) OBG: 20 marks
6) Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT: 9 marks each
7) Psychiatry, NTD, Orthopedics, Radiology and Anesthesiology: 3 marks each

Cut Offs for various categories:

1) General Category students: 50 percentile
2) SC, ST and OBC candidates: 40 percentile
