NBHM Scholarships

National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM), Mumbai is offering scholarships for pursuing post graduate studies (MA / M.Sc) in Mathematics for the academic year 2012 – 2013. NBHM is an organisation of Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. Selected candidates will receive Rs. 6000 per month as scholarship for a period of two years. Candidates those pursuing 5th year of Integrated 5 year programmes are also eligible but they will get scholarship for one year only.

Eligibility: Applicants should be BA / B.Sc degree holders with first class marks. Those appeared for final year degree exams also eligible. B.Sc. (Honors) degree candidates should have second class marks. Candidates who have completed three years of 5 Year Integrated M.Sc. are eligible to apply. Students those in M.Sc Part – 1 or fifth year of the Integrated M.Sc. Course also can apply. Age must be below 23 years as on 1st January 2012.

Selection will be based on the written examination to be followed by interview for short listed candidates. The written exam will be held on 22nd September 2012. The questions will be from the subject areas of Algebra, Analysis and Geometry. Duration of the test is 150 minutes and will be with questions with short answers. Interested candidates can download application format from the website. Filled in application forms along with relevant copies of certificates should be sent to concerned zone. Last date for the receipt of completed applications is 6th August 2012. Candidates will be receiving the communication regarding written exam by 3rd September 2012.
