IIT Madras MS – Ph.D Admissions 2012-13

Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), Chennai is inviting applications from eligible candidates for admission into Ph.D and M.S programmes in full time mode for the year 2012-13. Ph.D / M.S. programmes are offered in the disciplines of Engineering, Management, Sciences / Humanities and Social Sciences.

Eligibility for Ph.D and M.S. admission in Engineering / Sciences / Humanities and Social Sciences : Applicants must have Post Graduation in Engineering / Technology in relevant disciplines. Candidates must have valid GATE score. Candidates who have qualified for the award of Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Technology to be considered for direct admission to Ph.D programme.

Ph.D in Management : PG or equivalent PG diploma or Associateship in related branches. Candidate must have qualified in JMET / CAT / XAT / MAT / ATMA / GATE / UGC or CSIR / NET / JRS or equivalent exam.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through website : www.iitm.ac.in. Opening date for the registration of online application is 23rd September, 2012. Closing date for the registration of online application is 19th October, 2012. Interview and Test will be held on 12th to 17th November, 2012. IIT Madras M.Tech Admissions with or without GATE

IIT Madras has issued admission notification 2012-13 for M.Tech programme in the departments of Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Metallurgical Engineering, Ocean Engineering and Physics, Catalysis Technology, Nuclear Engineering and Petroleum Engineering and M.Tech in Clinical Engineering.

Qualifications: Applicants should have BE / B.Tech in Engineering / Technology / Architecture or its equivalent or Masters Degree in Chemistry / Mathematics / Physics / Life Science or related sciences or professional qualifications like AMIE. Completed details of qualifications available at mtechadm.iitm.ac.in. Candidates should have qualified in GATE 2011 or GATEW 2012. Candidates who have studied Bachelors Degree in IITs need not require GATE score. There are many other institutions offering M.Tech without GATE scores.

Interested candidates can submit applications online through above mentioned website. Application fee is Rs. 200 (Rs. 100 for SC, ST and PD candidates).
