IIT Madras Summer Fellowship Programme 2012

Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM) has announced Summer Fellowship Programme 2012 for Engineering Third year and First year M.Sc, MA and MBA candidates with excellent academic record. The duration of the fellowship programme is two months. Selected candidates will get a stipend of Rs. 6500 per month during the fellowship period. IIT Madras is offering good research opportunities for young Engineering, Management, Sciences and Humanities students. Candidates with proven academic record through academics can apply. Eligibility: Candidates should be pursuing third year of B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engineering) / Integrated M.E./ M.Tech. programme OR first year of ME/ M.Tech/ M.Sc./ M.A, MBA. All the applicants should have outstanding academic record. Academic background shall include high ranks and should be in top three positions in university examinations. Other important criterion is marks in academics, projects executed, design contests participated, papers presented at seminars, score / rank in Mathematics Olympiad and any other achievements / awards / distinctions obtained.

IIT Madras MBA Admissions 2012-14

Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has announced notification for admission to MBA programme for the year 2012-14. Department of Management Studies (DoMS) of IIT-M is a reputed business school in the country. The admission process of IIT Madras for Management programmes will start in January every year. The institute follows rigorous course structure. The programme is designed to impart substantial analytical ability, communication skills, ability to work in groups and leadership skills. Following are details of eligibility, selection process and application procedure:

Eligibility: Applicants should have B.E. or B.Tech. (or equivalent) with First Class marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized Institution or University. Candidates with a Masters degree with First Class marks in any discipline can also apply. Candidates those appearing for the final year exams of qualifying examinations also can apply.

There are separate admission rules of sponsored candidates. These applicants must have minimum work experience of at least two years in the concerned sponsoring organization. Candidates with good scores in any of the national level entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, MAT or equivalent would be preferred. They will be shortlisted for group task and interview and will have to participate along with regular candidates. Selection process for foreign nationals consists of GMAT score, Academic record, Letters of reference and work experience, if any.

Selection procedure: Applicants should have valid score on the Common Admission Test (conducted by IIM), or a valid GMAT score. Candidates will be short listed for the next rounds based on these scores. Final selection will depend on CAT / GMAT score, past academic record, letters of reference and work experience. Following are fee details:
MBA Fee Structure. For hostel residents, charges such as boarding and lodging would be approximately Rs. 70,000.

1) Regular Enrollment – For Day scholars: Rs. 270000
2) Regular Enrollment – Hostelite: Rs. 250000
3) Sponsored Enrollment – Day Scholars: Rs. 300000
4) Sponsored Enrollment – Hostelite: Rs. 280000
