Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TNVASU), Chennai has announced notification for admission into various Post Graduate Degree and Diploma Programmes for the academic year 2011-12. TNVASU is a specialized state university for training and research in veterinary, animal sciences and allied fields. Following are details of courses and application procedure:

1. Master’s and Research Programs: M.V.Sc. / M.F.Sc./ M.Tech. / Ph.D (both Veterinary and Fisheries) / M. Phil. (Biotechnology) / M. Phil. (Climate change and Fisheries) / M. Sc. (Biostatistics) / M.Sc. (Bioinformatics)

2. PG Diploma Programs (Full Time): Bioinformatics / Companion Animal Practice / Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosis / Wild Animal Disease Management / Fish Quality Management

3. Part Time – Evening Course: PG Diploma in Business Management in Animal and Fisheries Sciences

4. PG Diploma Courses (Distance Education / Online Mode Courses): Small Animal Orthopedics (PGDORT) / Veterinary Ophthalmology (PGDOPH) / Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Medicine (PGDECM)/ Small Animal Dermatology (PGDDER) / Diversified Poultry Production (PGDDPP)/ Feed Manufacturing Technology (PGDFMT) / Commercial Poultry Production and Management (PGDPPM) / Ethno Veterinary Practices (PGDEVP).

Application Procedure: Interested candidates can download applications and prospectus with all the details from university website at http://www.tanuvas.ac.in/pgadmin_noti08.html . Filled in application forms along with registration fee should be sent to ‘Office of the Chairman, Admission Committee (PG), Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai-600051’. Last date for submission of filled in application is 8th August 2011.

Periyar University Full Time-Part Time M.Phil and Ph.D. Admissions 2011-12

Periyar University, Salem (Tamil Nadu) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for admission into M.Phil and Ph.D. Programs for the academic year 2011-2012. The courses are offered in full-time and part-time mode. The research programs are also offered at various affiliated Colleges / Research Institutions of Periyar University for which admission will be through the notification issued by Periyar University. Following are details such as programs, number of seats, eligibility and application procedure:

M.Phil and Ph.D Programs are offered in the departments of Tamil, English, Commerce, Geology, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Education, Food Science, Biotechnology, Journalism and Mass Communications, Microbiology, Psychology, Sociology and Management Studies (PRIMS).

Interested candidates can obtain application forms from The Registrar, Periyar University, Salem-11. Application cost is Rs. Rs.300/- (Rs.150/- for SC/ST/PH candidates). Fee should be paid in the form of DD drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar, Periyar University, Salem’ payable at Salem. Request for applications should carry DD, envelope in the prescribed form and a separate request for each program if want to apply for more than one program.

Candidates appearing for final semester / year examination of qualifying degree can also apply. Registration for the programs is available four times in a year, January, April, July, October. Last date for submission of filled in application forms is 16th August 2011. Periyar University is providing separate hostel facility for both boys and girls in the campus.
