CSIR-GATE Qualified JRF Program for Ph.D in Engineering 2012

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has announced notification the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) to GATE qualified Engineering Graduates to pursue Ph.D in Engineering. The Fellowship is introduced in 2002 for the GATE qualified candidates with BE / BTech/ BArch / B.Pharm degree. The programme is known as JRF-GATE. The selected candidates can work at CSIR laboratories under reputed scientists.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should be fresh BE / B Tech Degree holders with valid GATE score. The selected candidates should pursue Ph.D in the discipline of Engineering. They can get direct admission to Ph.D programme of University / IIT / NIT / REC etc. There are various other possibilities for pursuing research under this programme. The upper age limit for JRF – GATE 2012 shall be 28 years. Relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC / ST / PH / OBC and Women candidates. Selected candidates will get a stipend of 16000/- plus HRA per month and contingency grant of Rs 20,000/- per annum. After the completion of two years, the fellowship may be upgraded to SRF-GATE and stipend will be increased to Rs 18000 per month.

Selection of GATE qualified JRF candidates can be done by the Director of the concerned CSIR laboratories and the same will be forwarded to Head, HRDG for the issue of award letters. JRF-GATE awarded candidates should register for Ph.D. programme within two years of joining. JRF – GATE candidates should not be deployed in any sponsored project.

BRNS – KS Krishnan Research Associateship 2012-13

Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) has announced Dr. K.S. Krishnan Research Associateship (KSKRA) for 24th batch. The KSKRA is aimed at providing research opportunity in R and D departments of national importance. The Associateship is offered in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences and Bio-sciences.

Selected candidates will get an opportunity to work in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai., Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore , Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), Kolkata , Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam and Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), Mumbai.

Eligibility: Applicants should have Ph.D. degree in Engineering / Sciences. All candidates need first class in Masters or Bachelors level. Those submitted their Ph.D thesis also can apply. Selection will be through Interview. Successful candidates will be appointed as Scientific Officer / Engineer – D.
