KCET 2011 Notification, Results, Counseling Schedule- Karnataka Common Entrance Test for Engineering and Medicine

KCET 2011 Notification has been announced by Karnataka Examinations Authority, Government of Karnataka for admission to various professional courses in the Government and private colleges in the state of Karnataka. KCET 2011 is a common entrance test for Engineering, Medical and other professional courses for the academic year 2011-12 to be conducted in colleges in Karnataka. This test is much popular as as KCET across the south and has good number of students appearing from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Following are details of KCET 2011 Notification, Results and Admission Counseling.

KCET 2011 will be conducted for two days on four different sessions. The dates are 27th and 28th April as per the schedule released by KEA, Karnataka. The courses offered through KCET 2011 are Engineering and Technology, MBBS, BDS, Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy and Yoga in Medical stream. Engineering and Technology courses are for the students of Maths stream and other courses are for Biology stream. Kannada language test will be conducted on 26th April for Gadinadu and Hornadu Kanndiga students in two different sessions.

Important Dates:

1. Biology Test: 27th April 2011 Wednesday at 10.30 AM to 11.50 AM.
2. Mathematics Test: 27th April 2011 Wednesday at 2.30 PM to 3.50 PM.
3. Physics Test: 28th April, Thursday from 10.30 AM to 11.50 AM.
4. Chemistry Test : 28th April, Thursday from 2.30 PM to 3.50 PM.

Applications of KCET 2011 will be made available through colleges / schools of the Karnataka state. Cost of application is Rs. 650 has to be paid in the form of DD in favour of ‘Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore’.

1. Last date for submission of DD at schools and colleges: 11th March 2011.
2. Last date for submission of DD by speed post : 15th March 2011.

IBAB Bangalore M.Sc. Bioinformatics and Biotechnology Admissions 2011-12

Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bangalore issued notification for admission to its prestigious course M.Sc Bio informatics and Biotechnology Course. The course will commence from July 2011. This is an innovative course to provide competence and skills in both biotechnology and computational biology/ bioinformatics by providing training in the relevant areas of cell and molecular biology, computer science, statistics, bio-informatics etc. IBAB is one of the leading institute for training in Bioinformatics and the institute also offers PG Diploma in Bioinformatics for which notification will be issued separately.

Eligibility of M.Sc. Bioinformatics and Biotechnology: Applicants should have B.Sc. degree in any branch of science or technology. It could be in life sciences (Agriculture, Biotechnology etc.), Physics, Statistics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Pharma, Engineering, veterinary (B.V.Sc.) or medicine (MBBS) with minimum of 55 percent marks. Those awaiting final year results also can apply. Fee for regular students is Rs. 50000 per semester. For NRIs, fee is Rs. 75000 per semester. Fee does not include hostel fee, deposits or any other and it is only a tuition fee.

Selection will based on the performance in online test and interview. The online test can be taken by all the candidates from anywhere with a good computer and a decent internet connection. You can write it from your home as well if you have good internet connection. A trial test also will be conducted for candidate’s familiarity with test patterns and system and to check the computer specifications.
