Junior Intermediate Zoology Study Plan for AP and Telangana

The main aim of a Bi.P. group student of Intermediate class is to secure admission into M.B.B.S. Course. To get admission into M.B.B.S. a good rank in EAMCET is essential. To finalise EAMCET rank, marks secured in Intermediate course are also considered. Hence, like EAMCET, a planned study of Intermediate lessons is also important.

In Junior Intermediate, like other group subjects of Bi.P (Botany, Physics and Chemistry), Zoology paper is also for 60 marks. Out of 60, 20 marks are allotted for Very Short Answer Questions (VSAQ : 10 Questions × 2 Marks), 24 marks are allotted for Short Answer Questions (SAQ : 6 Questions × 4 Marks), and 16 Marks for Long Answer Questions (LAQ : 2 Questions × 8 Marks).

As there is no choice for VSAQ, all questions are to be answered. To answer these questions, all topics are to be studied thoroughly.
In SAQ, eight questions will be given. One can choose any six.
Answers for these questions should be in 15-20 lines each. Some questions are related to drawing the labelled diagrams also.

In LAQ, two questions are to be answered out of given three. Each
answer should be in 45-60 lines. Illustrations are also required. The syllabus of Junior Intermediate Zoology is divided into 8 units. Generally, LAQ are given from the units II, VI, VII and VIII. Besides one SAQ and one VSAQ are also given from all the 8 units. Sometimes from VI and VIII units two VSAQ may also be given. For VSAQ, the answer must be direct and brief. For Example, observe the following question.

The symptoms given in the above question are related to amoebic dysentery and the disease is caused by Entamoeba histolytica.
For SAQ – Answers for some of these questions may not be in 20 lines. But for some questions, the answer may be more than 20
lines. Hence, do not count the number of lines but just write the answer properly and completely.

If diagram is given under SAQ, draw it with a sharply pointed HB or B pencil and label the parts towards right side. If space will not permit on right side, write some parts on left side also. This type of questions are generally given from the Units II and VII.

LAQ are to be described detail with labelled diagrams. Out of the three questions select two questions familiar to you.

UNITS and QUESTION TYPES:

I. Zoology – Diversity of Living World

There is much scope for giving VSAQ from branches of zoology, species concept, nomenclature etc. SAQ are generally given in basic concepts of classification, species concept, biodiversity etc.

II. Structural Organisation of Animals

VSAQ and SAQ are given from symmetry and body cavity. SAQ and LAQ may be given from tissues. Diagram under SAQ may be given from tissues.

III. Animal Diversity – I

This unit is related to characters and classification
of non-chordates. Generally VSAQ and SAQ are given from this unit.
To study the characters and classificationcharacters of different classes and examples – One has to prepare tables with the help of
your text book. Hence, it becomes easy to remember.

IV. Animal Diversity – II

This unit is related to characters and classification of Chordates. Generally VSAQ and SAQ are given from this unit. Like that of Unit III, prepare tables with the help of Text Book.

V. Locomotion and Reproduction in Protozoans

Generally VSAQ and SAQ are given from this unit. Prepare tables regarding different locomotory organelles and examples. Study the mechanisms of locomotion – such as amoeboid movement, flagellar movement, ciliary movement etc. Practice the diagrams of Euglena and Paramecium along with process of binary fission in both.

VI. Biology in Human Welfare

More marks are allotted to this unit. Study the types of parasites, parasitic adaptations, effects of parasites on their hosts. Keep special attention on structure, life history and pathogenecity of Entamoeba histolytica, Plasmodium vivax, Ascaris lumbricoides and Wuchereria bancrofti. LAQ, SAQ and VSAQ are given from these topics.

Similarly study the pathogen and symptoms of common diseases such as typhoid, pneumonia, common cold, ring worm disease etc. Read TDA also thoroughly.

VII. Cockroach (Periplaneta americana)

It includes structure, locomotion, body systems of cockroach. Under SAQ, diagram may be given. VSAQ and LAQ may also be expected from this unit.

VIII. Ecology and Environment

It is an important unit. Quantity of marks & syllabus are also more. But all the topics are related to the activities going on around us. Hence, understanding of these topics is easy and interesting. Definitions, abiotic factors of ecosystem – their effects on organisms; population interactions, food chains, food web, energy flow, nutrient cycles, pollution need special attention. VSAQ, SAQ and LAQ are given from this unit.

Most Important: At the end of every unit, a list of VSAQ, SAQ and LAQ are given. Generally in IPE, the questions are selected
from this list. Hence, study them thoroughly. Another Important Thing: While reading, concentrate your mind on the lesson. Victory
is yours. All the best!

AP Junior Intermediate Physics Study Plan

To secure cent percent marks in Inter First Year Physics, choosing of right questions and the learning process is important. To succeed in this mission one has to follow the following formulae.

SQ 6R FORMULAE

S = Select Q = Questions
R = Read
R = Re Read
R = Recite
R = Re think
R = Remembrance
R = Reproduce

1. According to above formulae, we have to choose Essay type questions (8 Marks) from Dynamics and Simple Harmonic Motion. For example, observe how can we verify the law of Conservation of energy in the case of vertically projected body, freely falling body and also learn the difference between them. To derive any equation or to verify any law in physics TRUMP CARD is usage of FIGURE. So, in above two cases observe figures and with the help of figures practice verifying the law of Conservation of energy. Similarly ascertain how can we produce equation for time period of simple pendulum, loaded spring and practice by knowing the differences, similarities between them.

2. Short answer questions (4 Marks) will be carried from Vectors, Kinematics, Centre of Mass, Friction, Rotatory Motion, Gravitation, Thermodynamics And Transmission of Heat.

3. Learn and practice by knowing the differences, similarities in deriving the formulas for Potential energy, Kinetic energy, work-energy theorem, elastic energy and surface energy.

4. Learn and practice by knowing the differences, similarities in showing the path of the oblique projectile and horizontal projectile is parabola.

5. Learn and practice by knowing the differences in deriving equations for escape velocity and orbital velocity also in the case of verifying perpendicular axis theorem and parallel axis theorem.

6. Learn and Remember parallelogram law, Triangle law, The law of Conservation of linear momentum, the law of Conservation of angular momentum, the law of Conservation of energy, Newton Universal Law of Gravitation, Hook’s law, Kirchoff’s law, Stephen’s law and Newton law of Cooling.

7. Very short answer questions (2 Marks) will be carried from Units & Dimensions, Vectors, Kinematics, Collisions, Friction, Elasticity, Surface Tension and Heat Chapters.

8. If you want to write definitions, Units and dimensional formulas of different physical quantities or solve problems most important tool is applying formula. So if formula is remembered four advantages are there.

9. Practice solved problems from the following topics:
– Power of the engine, power of the gun, power of the locomotive from Dynamics.
– Strain energy from Elasticity.
– Conversion of temperature, Boyles law, Charles law, efficiency of heat engine, Newton law of cooling from Heat.
