IIT Guwahati Ph.D. Admissions 2011-12

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) has issued notification for admission to Ph.D. programme to be started from 27th December 2011 in the disciplines of Engineering, Humanities, Social Sciences, Design, Sciences etc. IITG is offering good research facilities to carry out research. The Ph.D. in offered in Full time, part – time, external, sponsored and self finance modes. Following are details of programme, selection process and application procedure:

The IITG selects candidates based on written test or / and interview / portfolio review. Candidate’s performance in GATE / NET / CEED / INSPIRE and grades / marks in the qualifying examination also will be considered. IIT also offer scholarships for full time candidates ranging from Rs. 16000 to Rs. 20000 based on their qualification.

GATE is an entrance examination that facilitates Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Life Sciences, Basic Science and Biotechnology students to pursue higher courses such as M.Tech. and Ph.D in reputed IITs and other institutes / universities.
