This shows that the number of candidates securing 300 and above marks has been increasing throughout the years. The IIT JEE 2012 aspirants need to secure at least 100 marks in every subject and 300 marks in aggregate.

IIT Gandhinagar Ph.D Admissions 2011-12

Indian Institute of Technology – Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) is inviting applications for admission into Ph.D. programmes in the disciplines of Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Mechanical and Materials Science and Engineering), Sciences (Chemistry and Mathematics) and Humanities and Social Sciences (English, Cognitive Science and Philosophy). Candidates working in educational Institutes or research or industrial organizations are also eligible to apply under the External (ET) category or Faculty Development Programme (FDP). Following are details of programs, eligibility, seats and application procedure:

Number of Seats in various subjects: Chemical Engineering – 5; Electrical Engineering- 5, Civil Engineering- 4, Materials Science and Engineering – 3, Computer Science and Engineering -2, English – 3, Mechanical Engineering – 7, Chemistry – 1, Cognitive Science / Philosophy – 1, Mathematics – 3.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have qualified in GATE / CSIR-UGC / NET-UGC. They must have at least 55 percent marks in MA / M.Sc. / B.Tech /M.Tech or equivalent degree in the concerned branches. Concerned departments will have different cut offs for short listing the candidates. Ph.D programmes of IIT Gandhinagar are fully residential and selected candidates will have to stay on the campus. External candidates should stay in the campus for at least one year.
