AIEEE 2011 Counseling and Seat Allotment Procedure- Step By Step Guide

Students qualified in All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) will have to get ready themselves for the online web counseling. AIEEE 2011 counseling will be conducted through the official Central Counseling Board website www.ccb.nic.in . Candidates have to work on their preferred colleges, institutes and courses and branches in order to make the counseling process smooth and tension free. Students need not feel dejected if they are jusy below their expected rank as there are more than 25000 engineering seats available and 30 NITs, IIITs and reputed private institutes offering sets based on AIEEE ranks. AIEEE Counseling is most likely to start from Second week of June 2011. Eligible candidates will get a brochure with all the details of counseling procedure. You can also download the brochure from the CCB website. Candidates can use any internet facility to participate in the counseling. Here is the simplified process of AIEEE Online Counseling:

Step 1: Candidates have to register online which involves filling up of their choices, indicative seat availability in various institutes, mock counseling and locking facility. All the eligible candidates can log on to www.ccb.nic.in and click on Registration. Then you need to select from two streams – Engineering and Architecture. This leads you to login as new candidate. You have to enter your name, roll number, application number, date of birth etc. You must take a printout of the registration details.

Step 2: Locking of choices: Students have to thoroughly check their choices and options before proceeding with this step. They should lock their choices only after they have finalized and satisfied with the institutions, colleges, courses and branches they have selected / entered. Once locked choices will not be altered under any circumstances. Hence students are advised to take enough care in locking the choices. You can re-order the choices but you can not delete and add any to the existing list of choices. It is always better to prepare a list of choices and their order manually on a paper before entering on the web. Candidates should take a print out of the locked and confirmed choices for submission at the Admission Center.

Step 3: First round of seat allotment will be done at this stage. Candidates can check their allotment status at Central Counseling Board website www.ccb.nic.in . Then you have to download and print allotment letter.

Step 4: If you was allotted a seat in first round, you need to reporting at Admission Centers personally. You have to get your allotment verified and pay the initial fee. You can exercise your upgrade option at this stage and take provisional admission letter from Admission Center. Candidates who allotted seat but failed to report at Admission Center will lose their seats and they will not be considered for further rounds of seat allotment also.

Step 5: Here comes Second round of seat allotment. You have to follow the same procedure as mentioned for the first round of seat allotment. Please check the status your allotment on CCB website ccb.nic.in, download and print the allotment letter.

Step 6: Those allotted seats through second round have to report personally at Admission Centers and need to pay the initial fee after verifying the allotment. Don’t forget to exercise up-gradation option and take provisional admission letter from Admission center. Those allotted seats in first round and like to change their options can approach the Admission Center at this stage.

Step 7: This is the Third and final round of seat allotment. Candidates need to follow the same procedure as mentioned against first and second rounds of seat allotments. They should check the allotment status on Central Counseling Board website and get a printout before proceeding to the Admission Center.
