RESET 2012 for M.Phil-Ph.D. Admissions in Padmavathi Womens University

Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati (Women’s University), Andhra Pradesh is offering Research Courses in various applied and basic subjects of Science, Management, Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines. The SPMVV will conduct RESET 2012-13 for admission to Part time and full time M.Phil and Ph.D in the following subjects. Only women candidates are eligible to apply. SPMVV RESET 2012-13 will be held on 1st September 2012 at SPMVV, Tirupati. Following are details of subjects / disciplines offered, question paper model, application fee and procedure:

1. Applied Mathematics
2. Business Management
3. Pharmacy (Only Ph.D.)
4. Sericulture
5. Law (Only Ph.D.)
6. Music
7. Applied Microbiology
8. Social Work
9. Home Science
10. Communication and Journalism
11. Biotechnology
12. Computer Science
13. English
14. Telugu Studies
15. Education
16. Women’s Studies

Eligibility Conditions:

1. For Ph.D: Applicants should have PG degree in concerned subject with minimum 55 percent marks. OR M.Phil degree holders with 55 percent marks in PG. For Ph.D. in womens studies, any PG degree holder can apply. For part time registrations, you need at least two years work experience after PG.

2. M.Phil: PG with 55 percent marks in concerned subject. Candidates with two years experience in research / teaching/ technical/ academic areas are eligible for part time M.Phil. courses.
Pass percentages are relaxable for SC/ ST candidates.

Question Paper Model: Candidates with M.Phil./ NET/ JRF/ SLET / GATE qualification are exempted from appearing for Entrance Test. The RESET will be of 3 hours duration for 100 marks. The candidates have to answer 5 essay type questions out of 8. For the Computer Science and Business Management, the test duration will be 90 minutes and they will have objective type question paper.

Interested and eligible women candidates can download application forms from SPMVV official website www.spmvv.ac.in . Applications can also be obtained by post from the Dean of Examinations, SPMVV, Tirupati by sending Rs. 35 stamped envelope. Duly filled in application forms should be sent to the ‘Dean, Academic Affairs, SPMVV, Tirupati- 517502’ on or before 30th July 2012. Applications must carry a DD for Rs. 1000 (Rs. 750 for SC/ST candidates) to be paid towards registration fee drawn in favour of ‘Registrar, SPMVV, Tirupati” and payable at Tirupati.     The Phd exam which was held in the month of January, but still you people did not display the results. It becomes a problem for the people who are awaiting for it so anxiously. As I am MPhil student with 21/2 years of experience in teaching BSc- Biotechnology at P.V.K.N. Govt College, Chittoor (AP) . whether preference will be given to me in this cases as my qualification to do PHD is so apt. Please guide me in this concern.At present I am working as a project asst in the DBT project at Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangalore.

    As i have completed MPhil-Biotech, I was exempted from RESET exam,so whether i have a chance of getting the seat there for Ph.D or i have to approach there in the University before the results are announced,at least when will be the results announced,Please give some guidance in this regard.I will be thankful to you utmost.

  4. Whether the exam will be at Mahila University itself or it will change, I think before one hour we have to collect the hall ticket from the University itself. Still now we don’t have a idea of question papers or any model or in what type of sense you people will raise questions. If possible try to send me model of questions, because only two more days left for the exam.
    If you could provide this information i will be thankful to you utmost.

    • Yes, you are right. Candidates have to collect hall tickets from the Office of SPMVV one hour before the exam. And the exam will be at SPMVV only.     • Here is the model of question paper for all subjects except Computer Science and Business Management:
      1. The test will be of 3 hours duration for a total of 100 marks.
      2. There will be 7 Essay type questions out of which you have to attempt any 5 questions.
      3. Each question carry 20 marks.
      Computer Science and Business Management candidates will have Objective Type question paper of 1½ hours duration.
