NEET-UG Common Entrance Test for MBBS Admissions 2012-13 – Seats, Syllabus, Exam Structure and Question Paper Pattern

Here comes another All India level entrance test for the convenience of thousands of aspirants of medical education. The Medical Council of India (MCI) has decided to conduct the All India Level Common Entrance Test for admission to Under Graduate medical courses (MBBS) for the academic year 2012-13. The test was named as National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Under Graduate (NEET – UG) Admissions to MBBS, Post Graduate and Super Specialty courses. NEET – UG 2012 dates have been announced. Following the directive of the Supreme Court, the MCI has initiated the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Under Graduates (NEET-UG). The process will commence from May next year. Following are details of exam structure, scheme of examination, syllabus for the entrance test, number of seats in various courses, application procedure and info on NEET-PG and NEET-SS entrance Exams for Medical PG and Super Specialty Admissions:

Number of Seats in MBBS and PG Medical Courses:
1) Seats for Under Graduate medical courses: 42,000
2) Seats for PG medical courses: 20,600

Common Core Syllabus: The Medical Council of India (MCI) has released common core syllabus for all India MBBS entrance exam. The syllabus has been put up in the public domain for feedback till 11th August 11 2011. It is available on the MCI official website at http://www.mciindia.org/tools/announcement/CoreSyllabus_NEET-UG.pdf . After taking into consideration any objections and opinions from students, parents and educationists and experts in the field, the syllabus for physics, chemistry and biology subjects would be finalized. The prescribed syllabus has been prepared and moderated by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The modalities and formalities for NEET-Post Graduation common entrance test (NEET – PG) for medical post-graduate (MD / MS) admissions are being worked out by the MCI and NCERT.

Examination Schedules: The NEET- UG examination is scheduled for the academic session January-February 2012. The pattern of the examination for NEET -UG, distribution of questions across different subjects and model questions for the entrance exam will be made available to all the students, parents and public on the website in August 2011. The NEET-SS for admission to super-specialty courses (DM/MCh) is also scheduled for June 2012.

Tamil Nadu BUMS, BSMS Medicine Admissions 2011-12

Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoepathy (DIMH), Arignar Anna Govt. Hospital of Indian Medicine Campus, Chennai is inviting applications for admission to various medical courses for the year 2011-12. Candidates can use one application forms for all the courses. Completed application forms with all the relevant enclosures should be sent to The Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, Arignar Anna Govt. Hospital of Indian Medicine Campus, Arumbakkam, Chennai – 600106. Following are details of courses, eligibility and application procedure:

Courses: 1. B.S.M.S. / 2. B.A.M.S. / 3. B.N.Y.S. / 4. B.U.M.S. / 5. B.H.M.S.; Duration of the courses is 5 and half years including one year compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship. Eligibility Requirements: For B.S.M.S./ B.A.M.S./ B.N.Y.S./ B.H.M.S courses, candidates should have minimum of 50 percent marks in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together. They should have minimum of 50 percent marks aggregate in Physics and Chemistry subjects. For B.U.M.S course, candidates should have passed in Higher Secondary Course (Academic) / +2 with Science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology) or its equivalent examination. Age should be seventeen years as on December 31, 2011.

Educational Qualifications: Applicants should have passed in Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (HSE) (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board / any other equivalent Board in a single attempt. For BSMS course, the candidate should have studied in Tamil medium up to X Standard or Plus Two. For BUMS course, the candidate should have studied in Urdu Medium upto X Standard or Plus Two.
