IIT Delhi Summer Research Felowship Programme 2012

IIT Delhi has announced Summer Research Fellowship Programme 2012. The programme is aimed at providing an opportunity to exceptionally talented undergraduate students from different engineering
institutes in India. Students from IITs are exempted from this programme. Students within top ten positions of the classes are only eligible. Following are details of duration, fellowship amount, selection and application procedure:

Duration of the Fellowship (SFP) is 8-12 weeks. This can be availed at the most two visits. The fellowship includes cost of travel in the country along with to and from IIT Delhi, free stay at IIT Delhi including boarding and lodging and a fellowship of Rs. 500/- per week.

Eligibility: Applicants should be undergraduates and should have completed at least 2 years of study towards an engineering degree. They should be among the top ten positions in her / his respective programmes. Candidates who will be completing this eligibility requirement by May 2012 are also eligible to apply.

Application Procedure: Interested candidates can download application forms from IIT Delhi website http://www.iitd.ac.in/research/SRFP-2012.pdf. Filled in applications should be enclosed with Resume, consolidated grade card and rank in class, one photograph etc. Completed applications should be submitted to Assistant Registrar – UGS, IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi 110 016. Last date for the receipt of completed applications is 29th February, 2012. List of selected fellows will be announced by 30th March, 2012. Summer Fellowship work will start from 16th May 2012.

IIT Madras Summer Fellowship Programme 2012

Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM) has announced Summer Fellowship Programme 2012 for Engineering Third year and First year M.Sc, MA and MBA candidates with excellent academic record. The duration of the fellowship programme is two months. Selected candidates will get a stipend of Rs. 6500 per month during the fellowship period. IIT Madras is offering good research opportunities for young Engineering, Management, Sciences and Humanities students. Candidates with proven academic record through academics can apply. 1. Engineering Departments (Applied Mechanics/ Bio Technology / Aerospace Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Metallurgical and Materials Engineering / Civil Engineering / Computer Science and Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Engineering Design/ Ocean Engineering.
2. Science Departments: Physics / Chemistry/ Mathematics
3. Humanities and Social Sciences
4. Management Studies

Eligibility: Candidates should be pursuing third year of B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engineering) / Integrated M.E./ M.Tech. programme OR first year of ME/ M.Tech/ M.Sc./ M.A, MBA. All the applicants should have outstanding academic record. Academic background shall include high ranks and should be in top three positions in university examinations. Other important criterion is marks in academics, projects executed, design contests participated, papers presented at seminars, score / rank in Mathematics Olympiad and any other achievements / awards / distinctions obtained.
