Vector Control Research Center M.Sc. Public Health Entomology Admissions 2010-13

Vector Control Research Center (VCRC), Puducherry and ICMR research organisation is inviting applications for admission into two year Post Graduate Degree Course in Public Health Entomology. The course is offered in affiliation with Pondicherry University, Puducherry. Following are details of seats, eligibility and application procedure:

PG in Public Health Entomology: 12 seats (Open Competition -8 and Sponsored -4); Eligibility: For Open Competition seats, applicants should have passed any one of these degrees: B.Sc., (Zoology / Microbiology / Life Sciences / Botany / Medical Laboratory Technology / Biochemistry), B.V.Sc., M.B.B.S., or B.E., / B.Tech., Degree with Biotechnology as one of the subjects. For Sponsored (Self Finance) Category seats, candidates should be employed in either Government or Non-government agencies and they should be sponsored by the employer. The sponsored candidates should have passed B.Sc. with Zoology or Biology and should have minimum 5 years of regular service OR they should have M.Sc.with Zoology or Biology as one of the subjects.

Selection of the candidates will be based on their performance in the common entrance test. Entrance test will be for a duration of two hours and the test will be held in Puducherry only. Selected candidates under category – I will get fellowship as per the rules of the VCRC.

Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute of Health Sciences (MTPG and RIHS), an arm of the Mother Theresa Institute of Health Sciences, Puducherry is inviting applications for admission into the following Post Graduate Courses for the academic year 2011-2012. The institute has branches at Govt. General Hospital, Karaikal, Govt. General Hospital, Mahe and Government General Hospital, Yanam. The institute is established by the Govt. of Puducherry for specialised courses in Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Nursing. Following are details of Post Graduate programs:

1. M.Pharm: Duration is 2 years; Seats – 16.
2. MPT: Duration is 2 years; Seats – 6
3. M.Sc. (Nursing): Duration is 2 years; Seats- 17
4. P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing): Duration is 2 years; Seats – 25.

There is no age limit of any of the PG courses. Apart from the above PG courses, the institute also offers UG Degree, Diploma and Certificate Courses in Paramedical education of Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Nursing, Radio- diagnosis, Laboratory Technology and Multipurpose Health Worker.
