NPTI Nagpur PDC in Thermal Power Plant Engineering 2012-13

National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Nagpur is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the admission into Post Diploma Course in Thermal Power Plant Engineering for academic year 2012 – 13. NPTI is functioning under the control of Ministry of Power, Government of India. Selection will be based on merit in Diploma. There are 65 seats in Thermal Power Plant Engineering at the NPTI, Western Region, Nagpur.

Qualification : Applicants should have minimum first class marks in Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Control and Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Board. Applicants age should be below 25 years. Duration of Course is one year (two semesters).

Prescribed application format is available on website : www.nptinagpur.com. The application form duly filled in all respects and should be sent along with attested copies of certificates / mark lists in support of age, qualification and experience, two photographs and fee DD for Rs. 600 drawn in favour of NPTI Nagpur and payable at Nagpur to Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (WR), South Ambazari Road, Gopal Nagar, Nagpur – 440 022. Last date for the receipt of completed application form is 17th September, 2012. Date of Counseling is 17th, 18th and 19th October, 2012. Course will be started from 29th October, 2012.

NPTI Nagpur PGDC CET 2012-13 for Admission to Thermal Power Plant Engineering

National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Nagpur is the specialised institute for training in Thermal Power Engineering. The NPTI is inviting applications from eligible candidates for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (PGDTPE) for the academic year 2012-13. The admission is for the 17th Batch of the course. The NPTI, Nagpur shall conduct PGDC CET 2012 (Common Entrance Test) for short listing the candidates for its most prestigious programme. Selected candidates will be given training at NPTI centers located at Nagpur (Maharashtra), Neyveli (Tamil Nadu), Durgapur (West Bengal), Guwahati (Assam), Badarpur (New Delhi) and Nangal (Punjab). The programme is highly job oriented and candidates will get on the training at nearby Thermal Power Stations and also at NPTI simulators at Faridabad or Badarpur or Nagpur.

PGDC in Thermal Power Plant Engineering: 340 Seats (Nagpur – 65, Badarpur – 65, Durgapur – 65; Neyveli – 65; Guwahati – 40; Nangal – 40). Eligibility Requirements: Candidates must have B.Tech/ B.E. or equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Power/ Electronics / Control and Instrumentation Engineering. Candidates those appearing in the final year examinations of qualifying Degree are also eligible to apply. Applicant’s age should be below 27 years as on 31-08- 2012. Candidates will be selected based on performance in Common Entrance Test (PGDC CET) result and followed by counseling. Following is the question paper pattern of PGDC CET 2012:

Question Paper Pattern for the Common Entrance Test (CET)-2012:

1) Part-I: 60 questions from General Aptitude (including Basic Mathematics/ Basic Science / Language / Analytical Reasoning / Data interpretation etc.
2) Part-II : 30 questions on General Engineering
3) Part – III: 90 questions from the Subject / Discipline specialization paper. Candidate should select one group from Gr- I (Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent), G-II (Electrical Engineering or Equivalent) or G-III (Electronics / Control and Instrumentation Engineering or
Equivalent)

Course fee for non sponsored candidates is Rs.1, 80,000 (can be paid in 3 installments). For candidates sponsored from SEBs / PSUs / Private Utilities fee is Rs.2,80,000/-. Sponsored candidates have to pay lump sum at the time of admission. Though the fee is is high for a one year course, it is worth trying for education loan as the there are good placement opportunities for the successful candidates.
