NEET – 2016 Exam Schedule by Supreme Court of India

The Supreme Court of India has come out with the schedule of NEET 2016 examination for the academic year 2016-17. The Supreme Court has been insisting on NEET exam for admission into medical courses (MBBS / BDS) across the country through a single examination. Following is the schedule as announced by the Supreme Court on NEET 2016 examination:

Important Dates:

NEET Phase I exam: 1 May 2016
NEET Phase 2 exam: 24 July 2016
Results: 17 August 2016
Counseling: by the end of September 2016
Commencement of classes: 1 October 2016

The CBSE will announce the detailed schedule after consultations with Medical Council of India. CBSE has earlier informed that the AIPMT examination will be considered as NEET Phase – I examination.

On the other hand, several states have scheduled state level entrance examinations for medical and dental admissions. AP, Telangana, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu and Karnataka entrance exam are scheduled in April – May 2016.

NEET 2013 Key – NEET Expected Cut Offs for MBBS

The first NEET 2013 examination for admission into MBBS courses has been held across on the on 5th May 2013. The examination named National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET – UG) is being conducted by CBSE on behalf of Medical Council of India. The NEET 2013 – UG question paper consists of four sections. These are Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry. The NEET – UG will be held on 18th May in Karnataka as the state is going for elections on 5th May. About 7.26 lakhs candidates are appearing for NEET examination across the country.

Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are on top with 1.15 lakhs and 88500 candidates appearing from these state. 71000 students are appearing for NEET from Kerala while 68000 are sitting from Andhra Pradesh.

The students of Andhra Pradesh are in peculiar situation. They are writing both state exam (EAMCET) and NEET as per the court orders. The Supreme court ruling will finally decide the results of the tests. AP students are demanding for the postponement of NEET on the grounds of differences in syllabus of both the exams.
