NEET-UG Notification 2013-14 by CBSE

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi is conducting National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET – UG) for admission into MBBS and BDS courses on 5th May, 2013. Candidates can apply online through cbseneet.nic.in till 31st December 2012.

1. Eligibility : Passed in Intermediate with minimum 50 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates who are in second Inter may also apply for the NEET – UG 2013.
2. Age : Below 17 years.
3. Selection Process : Based on merit in entrance test marks.
4. Examination centers : Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Guntur and Nellore.

Application fee : Rs. 1000 it should be paid in either by Credit Card / Debit Card or Challan by deposit in CBSE Bank Account with Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank or e-Post Office.

Application procedure : Candidates are required to apply online through website : www.cbseneet.nic.in. The printout of application form along with all relevant enclosures for proof of age and qualification should reach to The Assistant Secretary (NEET), Central Board of Secondary Education, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, New Delhi – 110 092.

Important dates : Opening date for the registration of online application is 1st December, 2012. Closing date for the registration of online application is 31st December, 2012. Last date for the receipt of completed application form is 10th January, 2013. Last date for the receipt of application form with fine is 5th February, 2013. NEET 2013 on 5th May for MBBS and BDS Admissions

The National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2013 for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses for the academic year 2013-14 will be held on 5th May 2013. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the examination across the country. This is first common entrance examination for admission to medical courses in all types of medical and dental colleges in India.

There have been long discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of the examination. Finally, Medical Council of India (MCI) has released the syllabus of NEET and invited the opinions and comments from students, educationists, parents etc.

It is estimated that about 10 lakhs candidates are likely to appear for NEET 2013 examination. MBBS and BDS seats in all Government, Aided and Private Unaided medical and dental colleges will be filled through this examination.

There are about 355 recognized medical colleges in the country. Reservations will be implemented in all the colleges as per the existing norms. MCI will not interfere with the process of reservations for various categories in MBBS and BDS admissions.
