National Chemical Laboratory (NCL – Pune), an institute of CSIR has announced notification for admission to Ph.D. programme in Science and Engineering for the session to be started from July 2012. NCL, Pune is the leading institute for research and training in Chemical Science and functioning under the aegis of CSIR, New Delhi. Interested candidates can apply online only through the NCL website at http://www.ncl-india.org . Here are details of eligibility and application procedure:

Eligibility Criteria: For Ph.D .in Sciences, applicants should have Masters degree in Chemical / Physical / Biological and related sciences / technology along with a valid research fellowship offer from any of the organisations like UGC, CSIR, DBT, ICMR, BINC, DST-INSPIRE or any other research fellowship programme. Candidates who have qualified in CSIR / UGC NET for only lectureship (LS) category or GATE are not eligible.

For Ph.D. Programme in Engineering, candidates should have Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Technology or related disciplines with at least 55 percent. They should have a valid GATE score above the qualifying score for concerned subject OR A valid research fellowship offer from the organisations mentioned above. Applicants age must be less than 28 years as on August 15, 2012. Relaxations apply as per the rules. Candidates with Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering / Technology / related discipline should have 55 percent marks along with a valid research fellowship offer from any national level organisation.
