NCHMCT – JEE 2012 for B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology has announced admission notification for 2012-13. NCHMCT will conduct Joint Entrance Examination 2012 across India for admission to B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration. The course is conducted jointly by NIHMCT and IGNOU, New Delhi. NCHMCT is an autonomous body functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The 3 year B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered in 33 Central and State Government institutions (21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management and 12 State Govt. Institutes of Hotel Management) and another 19 Private Institutes of Hotel Management affiliated to NCHMCT, New Delhi. Apart from these, five Food Craft Institutes located in different parts in the country offer Diploma programs in specific operational areas of Hotel Management and Hospitality. There are 7787 seats in all the institutions for the academic year 2012-13. Following table gives you institute wise number of seats, eligibility and application procedure:

Qualification: Applicants should have a pass in Intermediate OR 10+2 system of Senior Secondary education or its equivalent with English as compulsory subject. Those candidates appearing in 10+2 or equivalent final year examination are also eligible for JEE 2012. The Bachelor of Science program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration is offered jointly by the NCHMCT and the India Gandhi National Open University. Duration of the course is three years. This is a full time course with in-depth laboratory work for students. Students will be trained in the operational areas of Food Production, Front Office Operation and House Keeping and Food and Beverage Service and also provides skills in Hotel Accountancy, Human Resource Management, Food Safety and Quality, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Facility Planning, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management. Those completed the course will be offered placements in reputed hotels and ITES companies.

JEE 2012 consists of following sections and marks:

1) Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude : 30 questions
2) Reasoning and Logical Deduction: 30 questions
3) General Knowledge and Current Affairs: 30 questions
4) English Language: 80 questions
5) Aptitude for Service Sector: 30 questions

NCHMCT Admissions 2011-12 for M.Sc. Hospitality Administration

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) has issued admission notification 2011 for M.Sc. Hospitality Administration to be offered in association with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. Duration of the course is two years and offered in full time mode only. The course is offered at Institute of Hotel Management, New Delhi (Pusa) and it’s center at Bengaluru. Following are details of eligibility and application procedure:

Eligibility and qualifications: Applicants should have B.Sc. Degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from NCHMCT and IGNOU; Candidates with Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management and Catering Technology from any AICTE recognised institutes also can apply. Regular faculty of IHM affiliated to NCHMCT with two years of teaching experience and having good track record of teaching and possessing above eligibility requirements can also apply. They have to forward their applications through Principal of the Institute.

Application Procedure: Interested candidates can download application form and brochure containing program details and other information from the official website www.nchmct.org. Seats available is 25 in each institute. Selection of the candidates will be based on the marks obtained in qualifying examinations. Reservations apply as per the rules of the Government. Candidates those admitted into the course having with 60 percent and above marks in qualifying examination will receive fellowship of Rs.7000/- per month for 1st Semester.
