MBBS Seats in India – 3000 More Seats Soon

Here is a good news for MBBS aspirants in the country. The Government of India has decided to decrease the doctors and population ratio to a greater extent in the coming years. The Government is considering the proposal to increase 3000 MBBS seats in the coming years.

There are about 45000 MBBS (Medical) seats in various medical colleges across the country. The Medical Council of India (MCI) has also giving approvals to new colleges and accepting proposals to increase seats in existing medical colleges after receiving positive signals from the Central Government.

The number of seats have been increased in several colleges which were established 10 years ago. The number of seats have been increased from 50 to 100 in some colleges and 100 to 150 in some other colleges.

Several applications for starting new colleges are also there with MCI for approvals. At present, there are 362 medical colleges across the country. About 45000 MBBS seats are available in these colleges.

Annamalai University Entrance Examination 2013-14

Annamalai University, Annamalainagar is inviting applications for admission into BE / B.Sc. Engineering, B.Sc Horticulture degree programmes and MBBS / BDS / BPT / B.Sc Nursing and B.Pharm Self Financing courses for the academic year 2013-14. Following are details of programmes and admission procedure:

1) Engineering (BE): Civil, Civil and Structural, Mechanical, Mechanical – Manufacturing, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Chemical, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication.

2) B.Sc Agriculture, B.Sc Horticulture.

3) Medicine: MBBS, BDS, BPT, B.Sc Nursing, B.Pharm.

Application forms can be downloaded from the website www.annamalaiuniversity.ac.in . Last date for the receipt of applications is 28th May 2013. Entrance examinations will start from 7th June and continued till 9th June 2013.
