AIMA Management Tests- MAT, MAST, UGAT, RMAT

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) for admission to MBA / PGDM courses. MAT scores are accepted for admission by hundred of B-Schools across the country. AIMA conducts MAT four times in a year for the convenience of candidates and colleges. These are during February, May, September and December. Graduates in any subject / discipline can apply. Final year graduate students can also apply. Candidates have to register online at official website www.aima-ind.org. Applicants shall have to pay the fee Rs. 1200 through Credit Card. Procedure of application in detail is given on the website mentioned above.

MAT can be taken either as paper based test or computer based test. MAT December 2010 exam will be conducted on 5th December 2010 across India. MAT is like a rolling test and candidates can take the test as frequent as they wish and assess themselves. There are some good B-Schools as well in the list. Interested candidates have to apply online, preferably. Offline applications are available with designated branches of Bank of Baroda, AIMA centers and CMS centers.

Test centers for Paper Based and Computer Based Tests are different. Candidates should go through the user guide before applying online. Eligible and applied candidates can download Hall Tickets from AIMA website one week before commencement of the MAT.

Apart from MAT, AIMA also conducts following tests for various categories of students, recruiters and professionals:

1. MAST- Management Aptitude and Skills Test: This is to assist students and recruiters in evaluating candidate’s employability skills.
2. UGAT – Under Graduate Aptitude Test: This is national / international level test for admissions to University recognized Bachelor Programs such as BBA, BCA, BHM, etc. 10+2 passed candidates are eligible.
3. RMAT- Research Management Aptitude Test: For those willing to pursue Ph.D. and Post Doc programs in Management.

Symbiosis conducts national level entrance test for admission to various courses. The test is named as SNAP Test (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test). The score are considered for admission to all full time courses offered by Symbiosis. SNAP Test structure has following topics, weightage and marks. Total duration of the test is 120 minutes. The test will be in objective multiple choice type. Each question will have 4 responses from which right answer has to be marked. Wrong answer will attract 25 percent of the marks allotted for the question. Following are four sections of the test:

1. General English: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability: 40 questions and 40 marks
2. Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency: 40 questions and 40 marks
3. General Awareness: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Business Scenario: 40 questions and 40 marks
4. Analytical and Logical Reasoning: 60 questions and 60 marks
