The selection will be made through interview based on merit in GATE / NET / NBHM / DBT / DST score.

1. M.Tech. programme.
Qualification : BE / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) / M.Sc / MCA / MBBS / M.Pharm / B.Pharm / BDS in relevant discipline with GATE score.
Duration of programme : Two years.

2. M.Tech. and Ph.D. (Dual Degree)
Ph.D Progremme (Engineering / Technolog, Humanities and Social Sciences, Physics, Chemistry and Life Science).
Qualification : M.Tech / ME / M.Phil / BE / B.Tech. / PG with GATE / UGC / CSIR NET score.
Duration of programme : Three years.

3. M.Phil (Planing and Development)
Qualification : Post Graduation in Arts / Commerce with minimum 55 percent marks.
Duration of course : Two years.

Application procedure : Candidates are required to apply online through website : www.iitb.ac.in for M.Tech and Ph.D programme and send their application in the prescribed format (available on website) for M.Phil programme.

Important dates : Closing date for the submission of online application for M.Tech. programme is 2nd April, 2013. Closing date for the submission of online application for Ph.D programme is 3rd April, 2013. Last date for the receipt of completed application form for M.Phil programme is 10th May, 2013.

IIT Bombay (IITB) is offering M.Tech, M.Des, M.Phil and Ph.D Programmes for the academic year 2012-2013. The academic session will start from July 2012. IIT Bombay is highly reputed among its peers for M.Tech Programmes. The Engineering departments of IIT Bombay are highly rated and well recognised across the country. Here are other details like eligibility and application procedure:

1) M.Tech: Applicants should have first class or 60 percent marks in B.E. / B.Tech/ B.Sc. (Engineering) / M.Sc. / MCA / MBBS / M.Pharm/ B.Pharm (4 year degree)/ BDS (4 year degree) along with a valid GATE score. IIT Madras also announced M.Tech admission notification. IITM also has some seats for Non GATE candidates.

2) Ph.D: Candidates should have first class or 60 percent marks in Master’s Degree in Engineering /Technology or equivalent. OR candidates with 60 percent marks in Master’s degree in Science OR in Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology along with GATE / CSIR / UGC / NBHM / DBT award and minimum of 2 years of professional work experience are eligible. IIT Kharagpur is another top class institutes offering Ph.D. in Engineering and Technology.

3) M.Phil: Applicants should have Master’s degree in Arts, Commerce or equivalent with a minimum of 55 percent marks OR need B.Tech./ M.Sc. degree with a minimum of 60 percent marks along with qualification in M.Phil. Entrance Test (MET) / GATE/ UGC JRF/ UGC Lectureship are eligible.
