B.Pharm Lateral Entry Entrance Examination – Kerala 2011

Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala has announced notification for admission to B. Pharm Course through Lateral Entry scheme for the year 2011-12. Admission to B.Pharm course in Government and private self financing colleges in Kerala will be conducted through this examination. The seat allotment will be done by Director of Medical Education (DME) based on the ranks secured in the Entrance Examination conducted by CEE. Following are details of eligibility and application procedure:

Qualification: Applicants should have Diploma in Pharmacy with minimum 55 percent marks. They should have passed in the diploma examination conducted by the State Board of D Pharm Examinations or its equivalent. SC / ST Candidates need minimum pass marks in the second year D Pharm examination. There is no upper age limit.

Selection of candidates for BPharm (Lateral Entry) course 2011-12 will be made on the basis of an Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, (CEE) at Thiruvananthapuram on 11the December 2011. The examination will consist of only one paper with a duration of two hours. The question paper will have 100 objective type multiple choice questions.

Interested candidates can obtain application forms from www.cee-kerala.org. There are separate application forms for general candidates and SC/ST candidates. Completed application forms along with a Demand Draft for Rs.300/- for General candidates and Rs. 150/- for SC/ST candidates drawn in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram and other relevant documents should be sent to ‘Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695 001’. Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarships 2011-12

Director of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala is inviting applications for the award of Suvarna Jubilee Scholarships for the year 2011-12. Students studying first year of Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programmes in Government or Aided Arts and Science Colleges and also University Departments can apply for these scholarships. Candidates should be from BPL family and they must have scored at least 50 percent or above marks in the qualifying examination.

The scholarship amount under Suvarna Jubilee Scholarship is Rs.10000/- per year. The amount will be directly deposited into the account of the selected student. Hence applicants should have a Bank Account in his / her name in any one of these banks: State Bank of India, South Indian Bank, State Bank of Travancore or Federal Bank. The number of scholarships offered for each college will be decided based on the number of candidates studying in that college. 10 percent of the total scholarships will be reserved for SC/ST categories and 10 scholarships are reserved for PWD category students. Five scholarships will be earmarked for candidates who are excelling in Arts and Sports at State or National levels.

Candidates receiving any other scholarship are not eligible for Suvarna Jubilee Scholarships. The list of candidates eligible for the award of scholarship from a college will be prepared by the Head of the Institution. Interested candidates can submit applications online at the website of Department of Collegiate Education, www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in. Last date for online submission of the applications is 3rd December, 2011.

Here is the brief description of the procedure for online submission of applications: Candidates have to Click the link ‘Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship’ provided in the Home Page of the official website. Next comes the link ‘Apply Online’. Candidates have to login to the site with username and password. If you have already logged in in the past for any other scholarship, you can use the same info for this scholarship also. Otherwise, you have to initiate ‘New Registration’ process for registering your details. Then click on the ‘SJMS’ tab and fill the required details and ‘SUBMIT. After submitting the application, you need to take the Registration Printout and submit it along with the required documents. Last date for the receipt of applications is 14th December, 2011.
