Update on 15th March 2012: IIT Delhi announces GATE 2012 results on 15th March 2012 at 10 AM on its website http://gate.iitd.ac.in/GATE/ along with other IITs and IISc websites. Complete info on GATE 2012 Results and download of GATE Scare Cards available in another post. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2012 results announced by IIT Madras on 15th March 2011. IIT Delhi is a organising institute for GATE 2011. The GATE 2012 is conducted in the branches of ME, CE, CS, EE, EC, IN and PI Papers and also Life Sciences (LS). Candidates can avail GATE 2012 Results from IIT Madras website along with other popular education websites. Results will be displayed on the IIT / IISc websites. There are number of top class institutes offering M.Tech without GATE scores. You can consider them if you are not qualified in GATE. GATE 2012 Results are available for following branches:

Gate 2011 results also available at GATE offices and on the websites of IISc and seven IITs. GATE 2011 score is generally valid for 2 years from the date of announcement of the GATE 2011 results. Qualified candidates can join in M.Tech. courses at any recognised institutes and they are also eligible for the scholarship of MHRD, Govt. of India. GATE committee does not allow / permit for re-evaluation/ re-totalling of marks / score under any circumstances. It also does not provide Optical Response Sheets (ORS) and will not entertain any correspondence regarding GATE 2011 results / scores.

IIT Madras M.S., Ph.D. Admissions 2011-12

Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM) issued notification for admission to M.S. and Ph.D. programmes in the disciplines of Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical, Engineering Desing, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management Studies, Mathematics, Mechanical, Metturgical and Materials Engineering, Ocean Engineering and Physics. IIT Madras also offers Joint Ph.D in Engineering and Sciences in collaboration with National University of Singapore, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum and Christian Medical College, Vellore in the area of Biomedical Devices and Technology.

Eligibility: There are different categories of admission. These are Regular / Full Time, Part Time, External Registration and Staff Members. For Ph.D. Programs, applicants should have Masters Degree in relevant subject in the disciplines of Engineering / Technology/ Sciences/ Humanities / Social Sciences with excellent academic Record. Candidates should have valid GATE/ CSIR UGC NET/ NBHM etc. Management Candidates should have valid scores such as JMET / CAT / XAT / MAT /ATMA / GATE / UGC or CSIR / NET / JRF or Lectureship OR GMAT / GRE.

Candidates with experience in relevant area are exempted from certain qualifications / eligibility. Program specific eligibility details along with prospectus are available on www.iitm.ac.in. Candidates can download application forms from IIT Madras website. You can also apply online.
