IISc Bangalore B.S Admissions 2012-16 Batch

India’s top scientific research organization, Indian Institute of Science has announced admission notification for its prestigious programme B.S. (Bachelor of Science). The programme was started last year and this is the second batch. The IISc has announced that 84 students were joined in the first batch of BS Course. The class work for the 2nd batch will commence from 1st August 2012. The online application process for batch 2012-16 will commence from 1st February 2012 and will closed on 30th April 2012. This is an excellent opportunity for the students to get a bachelors degree in science from a world class institute. Following are details of eligibility, selection, seats and application procedure:

Eligibility Requirements: Total number of seats in the programme are 110 – 120. Applicants should have completed their II PUC / 12th Standard / Intermediate or its equivalent in 2011. Those going to complete their course in 2012 are also eligible to apply. Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects in the PUC / 12th Standard or Intermediate. Candidates who have studied subjects such as Biology, Electronics, Computer Science, Statistics, etc., should also have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. All the applicants must have a first class or 60 percent marks or an equivalent grade. SC and ST candidates need pass class.

Selection and application procedure: The selection for BS programme will be based on the merit lists of the following national examinations: KVPY-SA-2010 (those selected as fellows), KVPY-SB (those appeared in 2011), KVPY-SX (appeared in 2011), IIT-JEE 2012 and AIEEE 2012). Reservations are applicable as per the rules. Interested candidates can apply online or also in offline methods. Application fee is Rs. 400. Fee is Rs. 200 for SC/ ST and PH candidates. Print versions of online applications should be sent along with required documents to Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore – 560012. The fee DD has to be drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Last date for the receipt online application is 30th April 2012. JMET 2012 For MBA Admissions in IITs and IISc

Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET 2012) Notification will be released by IIT New Delhi. JMET 2012 is an all India entrance test conducted for admission into the two year full time Postgraduate Degree Programmes in Management in IITs and Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates of all discipline to get into India’s prestigious IITs for MBA degree. Presently IITs in Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee are offering Programmes in Management. JMET is a qualifying examination for short listing the candidates for further selection process. Those qualified in JMET 2012 have to apply separately to the Institutes of their choice in response to the notifications. Candidates also should meet other requirements of the respective IITs and IISc. Interested candidates can apply to any number of IITs if he satisfies the eligibility criteria. IITs select candidates based on Group Discussions/ Interviews etc. JMET 2012 qualified candidates have to contact the concerned departments / schools additional information. JMET test will be a single paper only for a duration of three hours. The examination will be held during December 2011. The question paper will be in English medium only. Application Forms has to be submitted online only through JMET website / IIT Delhi website iitd.ac.in . The application fee is Rs. 750/- (Rs.350/- for SC/ ST/ PD candidates). Online application facility is available from JMET website and all IITs or IISc websites. Candidates have to ensure that they meet all the eligibility criteria before applying. JMET question paper consist of Objective multiple choice questions only. Questions will be from four sections. They are Verbal Communication, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation. There will be negative mark of 25% of allotted marks for wrong answers.
