Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) is a prestigious program of four reputed institutions in Andhra Pradesh. These are IIIT Hyderabad, JNTU Hyderabad, Osmania University, Sri Venkateswara University and Andhra University. All these were formed as Consortium of Institutions of Higher Learning (CIHL) to conduct this program with the help of Carnegie Mellon University, USA. International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad has issued the MSIT Notification 2011-12 on behalf of all the participating institutions. The program has been known as excellent in curriculum, practicals, facilities and placements. IIIT Hyderabad and JNTU Hyderabad have excellent record of placements in particular. Duration of the MSIT program is 2 years and regular course. The course will be highly rigorous with variety of teaching methods and imparting soft skills. Following are other details such as eligibility, walk in entrance and application procedure:

Eligibility: Candidates must have B.E./ B.Tech (in any branch) in any specialisation. OR They should have PG (M.Sc.) in Computer Science / Mathematics / Statistics. Candidates with MCA are also eligible.

Selection Method: Selection process for MSIT program consist of three stages. These are:
Stage I – Graduate Aptitude Test (An online test)
Stage II – Listening Comprehension and Counseling (To test language skills of the candidates)
Stage III – Preparatory Course (Candidates may be dropped from this stage by respective institute, if find not suitable for the course)

Candidates with good scores in GRE / GMAT/ TOEFL will be exempted from GAT. IIIT – Hyderabad will conduct an all India entrance test (GAT). Walk In Entrance along with Regular Entrance Test also will be conducted for the convenience of the candidates. Application Procedure: Interested candidates can apply online through MSIT website www.msitprogram.net . Examination fee is Rs. 600 to be paid in the form of DD which should be drawn in favour of ‘CIHL’ and payable at Hyderabad. International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT-H) issued admission notification for various M.Tech/ MS/ Post B.Sc./ Ph.D. Programs for the year 2011-12. IIITH shall conduct Post-Graduate And PhD Entrance Examination (PGEE 2011) across India for this purpose. IIIT Hyderabad is a reputed institute of IT courses and has been consistent in providing good placements for its students. Eligibility: Candidates should have completed B.Tech./ B.E./ B.Arch. etc. in any branch of Engineering. Those having B.Sc. in Agriculture / Physics/ Chemistry /Biology with Mathematics background can also apply.
