IIIT Hyderabad – PGEE

Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad is inviting applications for admission to M.Tech for the academic year 2012-13. Admission will be based on GATE scores and there are some seats under sponsored category. All the candidates must have qualified in GATE 2012. IIT Hyderabad offer scholarships to students in science, technology and liberal arts and encourage candidates to take up careers in research. M.Tech programme is offered in the specializations of Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Another premier institute in AP, IIIT Hyderabad also announced PGEE 2012 for admission to M.Tech without GATE score.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must have valid GATE score. The institute may also conduct an interview and or written test. IIT Graduates will be admitted without GATE score. There are two year and three year M.Tech programmes along with Sponsored M.Tech. IIT Hyderabad will provide financial assistantship at the rate of Rs. 8000 per month for a maximum period of 24 months. This will be awarded to all M.Tech candidates from India. Applicants should be Graduate Degree holders in Engineering, Technology, Architecture or Masters Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Life Sciences. Those studying their final year courses are also eligible to apply. Apart from IITs, there are several institutions which are offering M.Tech courses with or without GATE score as well.

Interested candidates can apply online through IIT Hyderabad website at http://www.iith.ac.in .Sponsored candidates have to apply separately. IIT Graduates can download application forms from the website. Application fee is Rs. 200 for general and OBC candidates and Rs. 100 for Sc, ST and PD candidates. Last date for the receipt of completed applications is 27th April 2012. IIITs are known for their standards in training and research in technical education. Apart from IITs and NITs, these institutes have their own significance. Most of the IIITs conduct M.Tech admissions for Non GATE candidates along with GATE scores. GATE scores are not essential for these institutes. They conduct own entrance examinations for admission to M.Tech or MS or MS By Research. Candidates who have not secured decent score and ranks in GATE examination can opt for IIITs.
