CUSAT Cochi B.Tech, PG and Dual Degree Admissions 2014-15

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) has announced notification for common admission test to be conducted for UG, PG and Dual Degree courses for the academic year 2014-15. Following are details of courses and application procedure:

UG Programmes in B.Tech: Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology, Safety and Fire, Mechanical, Ship Technology, Marine Engineering, Polymer Science and Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering.

Integrated programmes: BA LLB, B.Com LLB, B.Sc. – M.Sc. (Photonics)
PG Programmes: LLM, MCA, M.Sc.
M.Sc. in offered in the disciplines of Applied Chemistry, Biotechnology, Electronics Science, Environmental Technology, Hydrochemistry, Marine Biology, Marine geology, Marine Geophysics etc.

Other Courses: M.F.Sc, MA Hindi and Applied Economics, MBA
Selection will be based on entrance examination. For MBA preference will be given to CAT / MAT / CMAT qualified candidates.
Online registrations will be open from 20th January 2014. Last date for the online registrations is 20 February 2014. Website www.cusat.nic.in

CUSAT Thiruvananthapuram to be converted into IISER

The Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Thiruvananthapuram is likely to be converted into a national level research institute. The Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development Shashi Tharoor has informed this on 14th November 2012.

The CUSAT will be converted into a leading science education and research institute under the purview of MHRD, Govt. of India. The Kerala Government has already submitted a proposal to this effect requesting the MHRD to take CUSAT an Indian Institute for Education, Science and Research (IIESR).

The basic procedures for making the reputed CUSAT at IIESR have been initiated by HRD. It is a long procedure which involves working out of finacials. The final proposal will be placed before
Parliament and the same has to be passed by Cabinet.
