CSIR-UGC NET December 2012 Notification and Online Application

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR – HRDG) and University Grants Commission (UGC) are jointly conducting National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The examination will be held on 23rd December 2012 (Sunday) in Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering Sciences.

The application form and information bulletin can be obtained from the designated branches of Indian Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) from 21st August 2012 to 18th September 2012. You can also apply online between these dates through www.csirhrdg.res.in . The detailed notification will be published in Employment News dated 18-24 August 2012.

The CSIR – UGC NET consists of three papers. Questions in all the papers will be in objective multiple choice type only. Paper 1 deals with research and general aptitude and Paper 2 and Paper 3 are related to the Post Graduation subject studied by the candidate. The CSIR has also announced that the results of CSIR – UGC NET held on June 17th, 2012 will be released shortly. Candidates can access the results on www.csirhrdg.res.in .

CSIR-UGC NET June 2012 Notification, Previous papers and Preparation Strategy

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), in association with UGC has issued notification for CSIR – UGC National Eligibility Test June 2012. The test is aimed at awarding Lectureships and Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs) for meritorious candidates in the diciplines of Biological / Life Sciences, Chemical, Physical , Earth Sciences and Mathematical Sciences. Candidates qualified for JRF will get a fellowship and they can pursue Doctoral Research (Ph.D.) in any reputed research institutions, organisations and universities. Here are other details:

Qualifications: Candidates should have Post Graduate Degree (M.Sc.) in the relevant subject with at least 55 percent marks. SC and ST candidates need minimum 50 percent marks. Those who are appearing for final year exams of PG or waiting for results also can apply. Application forms along with information brochure can be availed from designated branches of Indian Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce. Candidates can also submit applications online through http://www.csirhrdg.res. in CSIR – UGC NET is one of the tough exams in the country and applicants should have proper preparation strategy to succeed in CSIR – NET examination.

Scheme of the Examination: Candidate’s age must be between 19-28 years for JRF (NET) and there will be no age limit for lectureship. The CSIR -NET question paper is for 200 marks and will have three sections all consisting of objective multiple choice type questions. There will be negative marking for some sections. Following is the brief description of the question paper:

1) Part A: Common to all subjects and questions will be asked from General Science, Quantitative Reasoning and Analysis and Research Aptitude.
2) Part B: Subject related Multiple Choice questions (MCQs).
3) Part C: Subject Questions with analytical nature.
