BHU – PMT Screening Test Previous Papers and Syllabus

Banaras Hindu University, most popular as BHU, Varanasi conducts all India level entrance examination for admission to its prestigious MBBA, BDS, Pharmacy and BAMS courses. BHU conducts PMT Screening Test and PMT Main Examinations to short list the candidates for the above programmes. Medical and Pharma programmes of BHU are considered are highly qualitative. The PMT Screening is a tough examinations with objective multiple choice questions from Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Question paper will be mostly based on the CBSE syllabus of Class XII. Candidates studying in state boards have put some extra efforts to cover the syllabus of BHU – PMT. Following are details of seats in various medical courses of BHU:

1) MBBS: Total seats – 84
2) BDS: Total seats – 33
3) BAMS: Total seats – 50
4) B.Pharmacy: Total seats – 33

BHU Varanasi MBBS – PMT Screening and Main Exams 2012 – Syllabus – Previous Papers

Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has issued PMT 2012 Screening and PMT 2012 Main Examination notifications for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS and B.Pharm courses for the academic year 2012-13. PMT 2012 Screening Test will be held on 16th May 2012 at Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad centers. This is meant for initial screening of the candidates. Those qualified in PMT 2012 will be short listed for PMT Main Examination 2012 which will be conducted on 17th June 2012. Following are details of number of seats, eligibility, syllabus, previous and model papers and application procedure:

MBBS: 84 seats (General – 42, OBC-23, SC-13 and ST-6)
BDS: 38 seats (General – 17, OBC- 9, SC-5 and ST-2)
BAMS: 50 seats (General – 25, SC-8, ST-4 and OBC-13)
B.Pharmacy: 33 seats (General – 17, SC-5, ST-2 and OBC-9)

Applicants must have passed in Intermediate / 10+2 in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany). Candidates need 50 percent marks in Intermediate / 10+2 to be considered for MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS and 60 percent for B.Pharm course. Candidates age should be between 17 – 25 years as on 31st December 2012.

Interested candidates can obtaine application forms from BHU campus. Application cost is Rs. 1500 for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 1000 for SC and ST candidates. Applications will be made available at branches of Bank of Baroda in Varanasi, Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Patna, Bangalore, Pune, Kota and Bhubaneswar.
