School of Distance Education, Bharathiar University (State University), Coimbatore issued notification for admission to B.Ed. Programme for the academic year 2011. Interested candidates can download application form from www.b-u.ac.in. Bharatiar University is ranked second in Tamil Nadu in non-professional institution category. Duration of the programmes is 2 years. You need to cmplete the programme within 4 years. Selection will be through Entrance Examination which will be conducted during March 2011. Entrance Test will be in English and Tamil languages. Here are other details:

Eligibility: Applicants should have two years full time teaching experience in any of the recognised Primary/ Gradudate/ Post graduate institute. The candidate should be in service at the time of submitting the application. He / she should have secured minimum 50 percent marks in the Bachelor’s degree. Relaxations apply as per rules.

Entrance Exam contains Two parts A and B. Total number of questions will be 100 having one mark each. Candidates have to answer all the questions under Part-A and 30 questions under Part-B regarding optional subject 1. Part-A consist of questions from General English, Logical and Analytical Reasoning, Education and General Awareness and Teaching – Learning Practices in Schools. Part-B contains Optional subject I from Tamil / English/ Mathematics/ Science/ Social Science/ Computer Science/ Economics/ Commerce.

Fee for the programes in Rs. 18000 per year. The course is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Application can be obtained from the Office of School of Distance Education, Bharatiar University, and the City center of the School of Distance Education by paying Rs. 500 in the form of DD drawn in favour of ‘The Director, School of Distance Education, Bharatiar University, Coimbatore’. You can also download the application form from the website which should be sent with enclosing DD for Rs. 500 along with other requirements. Last date for receipt of filled in applications is 15th March 2011.

Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, Tamilnadu has issued notification for admission to B.Ed. Programme 2011-13 under distance education mode. The KMU is offering B.Ed. Degree Course with two years duration. There will be no entrance examination for admissions and the course is recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) with No. F.SRO/ NCTE/ B.Ed.-DE/ 2008/ 8074. Following are other details:

Eligibility requirements: In service teachers with 2 years full time teaching experience in a primary / secondary / higher secondary / matriculation/ CBSE schools in Tamilnadu are eligible to apply. The school must be recognised by state or central givernment.

Applicants should have Bachelors Degree in any of the following subjects under 10+2+3 pattern / 11+1+3 pattern. Subjects are Tamil, Biophysics, Botany, Microbiology, Computer Applications, Political Science, Public Administration, Commerce, Economics, English, Mathematics, Physics, Geophysics, Applied Mathematics, Biochemistry, Electronics, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Plant Biology, Zoology, History, Applied Geography, Geography, Computer Science, Information Technology and Home Science.

The cost of application is Rs. 500 by hand and Rs. 550 by post. The application fee should be paid in the form of DD drawn in favour of ‘The Director, DDE, MKU’ payable at Madurai. Filled in forms should be sent to ‘ The Director, Directorate of Distance Education, Madurai Kamaraj University, Palkalai Nagar, Madurai- 625021’. Application forms are made available at DDE admission centres at Chennai (Mylapore), Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, Madurai City Campus, Madurai Palkalainagar, Trichy and Tirumangalam. Name and address of the candidates should be clearly indicated on the backside of the DD.
