Anna University B.Tech Admissions for Other State Candidates 2012-13

Anna University, Chennai (Tamilnadu) is inviting applications for admission to B.E/ B.Tech / B.Arch Degree Courses in the Other States Candidates category for the academic year 2012-13. Candidates have to apply online through http://osonline.annauniv.edu:8080/otherstate2012/ . There are 50 seats available in this category for all other states. Candidates have to submit only one application for all the courses.

Duration of BE/ B.Tech programme is 4 years and B.Arch is 5 years. Applicants should not be from Tamilnadu and they should have passed in HSC / Intermediate / 10+2 with minimum 50 percent marks. SC and ST candidates need 35 percent marks. Improvement marks will not be considered. Only male candidates are eligible for mining engineering branch.

Selection will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. B.Arch candidates should have passed in NATA 2012. Selection for B.Arch programme will be based on marks in qualifying exam and NATA scores. Candidates will be called for counseling based on their merit.

Application fee should be paid in the form of DD drawn in favour of The Director, Admissions, Anna University and payable at Chennai for the prescribed amount. Filled in forms along with relevant enclosures should be sent to The Director (Admissions), Anna University, Chennai – 600 025.

Anna University BE, B.Tech Results of November- December 2011 Exams

Anna University, Chennai (Tamilnadu) has announced BE / B.Tech Results Grade System and Marks System for which Examinations were held during November – December 2011. Anna University is offering BE / B.Tech in the branches of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Chemical Engineering etc. The Anna University has announced results on 13th January 2012.

Anna University is following Grades System and also Marks System for Engineering Courses. Candidates of respective categories can obtain results of BE / B.Tech Examinations conducted during November – December 2011 from www.annauniv.edu. You can also get Anna University results from http://schools9.com/annauniv_grade.htm . Following are meanings for the results in various grades and categories:

1) Results WH 1 : Withheld for suspected Malpractice
2) WH 2 : Withheld for want of approval of admission / re- admission / transfer from DTE and Director, Student Affairs.
3) Result WH 5 : Withheld for want of clearance from Director (Student Affairs) / Director CUIC
4) Result WH 6 : Withheld for want of clarification
5) Result WH 8 : Withheld for want of clarification from the Director (AC) about the equivalency of subjects for the students admitted in v and vii semester)
6) WH 9: Results Published Later
7) S.E : Sports Exemption
8) Result W : indicates Withdrawal
9) AB : Absent
10) Result SA : Shortage of Attendance
11) Result RA : Reappearance (To Reappear)
