10th Class English New Syllabus and Marks Division for AP Students

The syllabus has been changed for SSC / 10th Class public examinations in Andhra Pradesh from the academic year 2014-15. Following is the suggestive division of syllabus in Paper 1 and Paper 2 of English Subject.

Paper -1:

1) Question No. 1 to 8 From A & B readings (prose & poetry): 16 marks
2) Question No. 9 to 13 Reading comprehension (from A reading): 5 marks
3) Question No. 14 to 18 Reading comprehension (from B reading) poetry: 5 marks
4) Question No. 19 to 24 Grammar (from A reading) Prose: 6 marks
5) Question No. 25 to 40 Vocabulary (from A & B reading) Prose & Poetry: 8 marks
6) Question No. 41 to 45 Grammar (from unseen text): 5 marks
7) Question No. 46 to 50 Vocabulary (from unseen text): 5 marks

Paper – 2

1) Question No. 1 to 5 Short answer question (from C reading) Prose: 5 marks
2) Question No. 6 to 10 Reading comprehension (from C reading): 5 marks
3) Question No. 11 Unseen text study skills verbal to visuals or visual to verbal: 5 marks
4) Question No. 12 Unseen text study skills (summarizing the text): 5 marks
5) Question No. 13 Developing a story / narrative, conversion: description and conversion from one to other discourse: 10 marks
6) Question No. 14 Essay (all types) Biography, review and reports / news report: 10 marks
7) Question No. 15 Message : Letter profile and dairy: 5 marks
8) Question No. 16 Posters / advertisements, invitations and notices: 5 marks.

10th Class English Model Question Paper for Telangana Students

10th Exams Telangana Following is the structure of English question paper for SSC / 10th Class students of Telangana state. The question paper is prepared based on the new syllabus. The paper is for 80 marks and the duration is 3 hours. Following is the section wise description of the question paper and a model paper is also given at the end.

Section A: Reading Comprehension – questions 1-4: 30 marks
Section B: Vocabulary and Grammar – questions 5-8: 20 marks
Section C: Creative Writing – questions 9-12: 30 marks.

Students will be allotted 15 minutes for reading the question paper in addition to 3 hours for writing answers to the questions.
