Courses Offered at PU DDE 2026
PUDDE offers UG, PG, MBA, PG Diploma, and Certificate programmes across Arts, Commerce, and Management disciplines. Here is the complete list of courses available for the 2026 session.
Under UG programmes, BA is offered in English, Economics, History, Political Science, Sociology, and Journalism and Mass Communication. BCom and BBA are also available at the undergraduate level. All UG programmes are for a duration of 3 years with a maximum completion period of 6 years.
Under PG programmes, MA is offered in Hindi, English, and Sociology. MCom is available for commerce graduates. All PG programmes are for a duration of 2 years under the non-semester annual pattern.
MBA is available as a 2-year programme with 4 semesters and is offered in multiple specialisations including Marketing, Finance, Human Resource Management, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and more. For MBA admission, CAT scores are also considered alongside academic merit.
PU DDE 2026 Fee Structure
The fee structure at PUDDE is one of the most affordable among central universities in India. The registration fee for all programmes is Rs. 200. UG programmes cost between Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 10,000 per year. PG programmes cost between Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 25,000 per year. The MBA programme costs approximately Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 25,000 per year. Examination fees of Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 2,500 per semester are charged separately. Payment can be made through Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, Net Banking, Demand Draft, and RTGS.
Fee Concessions Available
PUDDE provides generous fee concessions to eligible candidates. 100% Tuition Fee Concession is available for differently-abled persons. 50% Tuition Fee Concession is available for non-teaching employees of Pondicherry University and their wards, defence personnel, widows, deserted women, prisoners, and transgender individuals. Students from SC and ST categories can also avail scholarships from their respective State and UT Governments.
Eligibility Criteria for PU DDE Admissions 2026
For UG programmes such as BA, BCom, and BBA, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board. General category candidates need a minimum of 45 to 50% marks. SC, ST, and OBC candidates require 33 to 40% marks.
For PG programmes such as MA and MCom, candidates must hold a graduation degree in a relevant stream from a UGC-recognised university under the 10+2+3 pattern. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required for General category and 45% for reserved categories.
For MBA, candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks or 6 to 7 CGPA. CAT scores are also considered for MBA admissions.
There is no age limit for most courses offered at PUDDE.
Selection Process
Admissions at PUDDE are strictly merit-based. There is no entrance exam for UG, PG, or PG Diploma courses. Selection is based on marks in the previous qualifying examination. Merit lists are published category-wise on the official portal after document verification. For MBA, CAT scores may be considered alongside academic merit.
Admission Modes Available
PUDDE offers two modes of admission. The Conventional Mode is available for both January-February and July-August sessions. The TPI Mode or Third Party Institution Mode is available only for the July-August session. Candidates must decide on the mode before applying as it cannot be changed after submission of the application form.
Documents Required for PU DDE Admission 2026
The following documents must be scanned and uploaded during the online application process. 10th Class Marks Memo, 12th Class or Intermediate Marks Memo, Graduation Degree Certificate and Marks Memos for PG and MBA applicants, Community Certificate for SC, ST, and BC candidates, Income Certificate wherever applicable, Aadhaar Card, ABC ID which is the Academic Bank of Credits ID obtained through DigiLocker app, DEB ID from the Distance Education Bureau portal, and a recent Passport size photograph.
Candidates should note that an ABC ID and DEB ID are mandatory requirements before enrolling. The ABC ID can be created through the DigiLocker app by linking your mobile number with your Aadhaar card.
How to Apply for PU DDE Admissions 2026
Visit the official PUDDE website at dde.pondiuni.edu.in. Click on the Online Admission link and decide whether you are applying for Conventional Mode or TPI Mode. Select your desired course and specialisation carefully as it cannot be changed after submission. Register by entering your name, mobile number, and email ID which will be used for all future communications. Personal Contact Programmes or PCPs are optional classes held at multiple centres across India. MBA students get 40 hours of PCP classes per semester.
