Kashmir University Exams Postponed – 2014

All the scheduled examinations of the Kashmir University (KU) have been postponed till October 12 in the Kashmir valley. The decision has been taken after education remained badly affected after devastating flood in the state.

State Board of School Education (SBOSE) was yet to take a decision on class 10th and 12th examinations in the Kashmir.

KU has informed that in the wake of the recent floods, all university examinations till October 12 have been postponed. The new exam dates will be announced later. Most of the educational institutions, including colleges, remained closed as they were affected by recent floods in the state.

A number of private schools have started normal functioning though the number of students was less. Hundreds of school buildings were either damaged or developed cracks in the floods, posing a great threat to students.The government has already constituted teams to inspect all the educational institutions before declaring them safe for normal work.

Uncertainty continued as the SBOSE was yet to make any announcement about the conduct of class 10th and 12th examinations in the valley. The examinations were scheduled to be held this month as announced by the SBOSE.
