Ministry of human resources development, Government of India has hiked the amount of fellowships to be awarded for Junior research fellows, senior research fellow and other categories.
JRF is Rs.31000:
As per the new fellowships the JRF holder from UGC or CSIR will get Rs 31000 during the first and second years of research. The previous JRF amount is Rs.25000.
SRF is Rs.35000:
The fellowships for SRF holders has been increased from Rs. 28000 to Rs. 35000. More than 60000 students and researchers across the country will benefit form the hike in fellowships.
Research associates will get varied amounts depending upon the category. The highest amount for research associates is capped at Rs.54000. But there is a demand from students for more hike in fellowships.
