British Council- Education UK Exhibitions 2012 at Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and Hyderabad

Are you planning to study in the United Kingdom? Here is an excellent opportunity. The British Council is organising Education UK Exhibitions in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Pune from 4th February 2012 to 8th February 2012. Aspiring candidates and their parents will have an opportunity to directly meet representatives of the UK universities and institutions. Main focus in the UK education exhibition will be on Management, M.Sc., Engineering, Biotechnology and other professional courses. Candidates can get information on various undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses. There is no entry fee. Candidates have to register online for the exhibition at http://www.educationuk.org OR www.educationuk-in.org .There will be awareness seminars delivered by UK academics on different topics such as student visas, studying in UK for engineering or business degree. You can also find information on British Council’s English courses and IELTS (International English Language Testing System) examination.

Oxford – Blavatnik School of Government – MPP Scholarships 2012

Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University, United Kingdom is offering Scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year to pursue Master of Public Policy in the school. There are 10 scholarships for Indian students. The main aim of the scholarship is to reward academic ability and to open education opportunities for foreign students in UK. The scholarship will be funded by Chevening-Weidenfeld, both of which are specific to the MPP and the other sources of funding for Oxford graduate applicants.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants should get admission in Master of Public Policy programme. This is a 12 month full time programme. They need to submit an ‘Application for Scholarship’ of not more than 1,000 words and should be addressed to the Scholarship Selection Committee. The submission should include, how study at the Blavatnik School will assist their career development, How their intended careers will contribute to the public good in their home countries, or at the international level. Applications should be submitted or emailed not later than 20 January 2012.

Selection procedure: Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of candidates’ academic record and commitment to public service. Short listed candidates will be interviewed and interviews will be conducted online via Skype or by telephone. Selected candidates will get Scholarship that includes tuition and colleges fees, and a stipend to cover living expenses in Oxford. This will amount to a worth of a maximum of £47,250.
