CDFD Research Scholars Programme 2013

The CDFD (Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics), Hyderabad is inviting applications from eligible candidates for admission into Research Scholars Programme II for the year 2013. CDFD is known for basic research in the frontier areas of modern biology and a reputed organisation in the area of computational biology. The selected candidates will be enrolled for Ph.D at Manipal University or University of Hyderabad.

Areas of Research: Computational and Structural Biology, genetics and epigenetics, cell signalling, cancer and stem cell biology, molecular and cellular biology, silkmoth genomics, molecular pathogenesis. The details of research specializations are available on the website www.cdfd.org.in .

Applicants should have Masters degree in any branch of Science, Technology, or Agriculture or MBBS. Except MBBS candidates, all others should have cleared the CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR / ICAR / BINC / INSPIRE NET or JEST for JRF. GATE candidates who are in top 50 ranks in Biotechnology, Life Sciences or Chemistry stream are also eligible.

Selection will be based on Online / LAN examinations and interview. Interested candidates can apply online through CDFD website at www.cdfd.org.in . Last date for the receipt of applications is 30th November 2012. Exam will be held on 20th January 2012.

IIT Delhi Ph.D and MS Admissions 2012-13

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi has issued notification for admission into Ph.D. and M.S. in various disciplines for the academic year 2012 – 13. Ph.D. and M.S. Programmes are offered in the Department / School of Applied Mechanics, Amar Nath and Shashi Khosla School of Information Technology, Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology and Management, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Eligibility : Applicants should have M.Tech. / M.E. / M.D. with first class marks in aggregate or M.Sc. / MBA / M.A. / MBBS or B.E. / B.Tech with minimum 70 percent marks in aggregate. Candidate must have a valid GATE score or NET qualification or equivalent fellowship. Applicants must have minimum two years of experience for Ph.D. and one year for M.S. and two years for the Part – time and sponsored full – time programmes.

The application fee is Rs. 225 it should be paid in the form of challan through any branch of SBI on or before 14th November, 2012. Opening and closing date for the submission of online application is 10th October to 10th November, 2012. Classes will be started from 2nd January, 2013.
