IIT Advanced Entrance Test Completely Online From 2018

The IITs have decided to conduct JEE Advanced entrance exam completely online from 2018. The decision is aimed at preventing delays in evaluation and paper leaks. The prestigious entrance exam is conducted for admission into engineering courses in IITs (Indian Institute of Technology).

In online mode, the students will take up the examination at designated exam centres. The answers have to be marked on the computer instead of using pen and paper. The Joint Admission Board (JAB), which is a policy making body of IIT admissions has taken the decision.

At present, the exam is conducted in OMR method where the candidates need to fill the answers using pen or pencils and are evaluated by machines. It is optional for the students to take online exam till 2017. The changes will be notified by JAB in due course of time.

About 13 lakh students took the JEE Mains exam, which is an eligibility test for JEE Advanced. Around 2.2 lakh students were eligible to write the JEE (Advanced Exam).
