Velloe Institute of Technology (VIT University), one of the leading private technical universities in the country has issued VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) – 2017 notification for admission into B.Tech courses for the academic year 2017-18.

The VIT will conduct admissions at Vellore, Chennai, Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) and Bhopal campuses through VITEEE 2017. The sale of applications and online submission of applications has been started already.

The VITEEE – 2017 will be held across the country from 5th April to 16th April 2017. This will be an online examination. There are 120 examination centers across the country.

The VITEEE also will be held in Dubai, Kuwait, Muscut centers. Last date for the submission of applications is 28 February 2017. For more information, see the website www.vit.ac.in .

The Government of India is proposed to increase number of seats in IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology) by 2020. At present there are 72000 seats in UG, PG and Doctorate programmes of IITs.

The IITs are planning to increase this overall number of seats to 1 lakh by the year 2020. All the candidates secured in IITs will be provided hostel facility.

The IITs are proposed to increase the number of seats if the candidates can make their own accommodation. About 30000 seats will be increased to day scholars.

The IIT executive council meet to be held on 23 August 2016 will take a decision in this regard. IITs are prestigious technical institutions in the country and have been ranked in the international education surveys.
