Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Admission Notification for Class – 1 to XI for the year 2022

Online applications are invited by thte Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) for admission into Class 1 to Class 11 for the academic year 2022-23.

Eligible age for admission process : A Child must be 6 years old as on 31st, March in the academic year in which admission is sought for Class I. (Child born on 15th, April should also be considered). Detailed information is available at KVS Website : kvsangathan.nic.in.

The minimum and maximum age limit for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas in various classes is given below (Child born on l st April should also be considered.)
Class – I : Between 6 to 8 years.
Class – II : Between 6 to 8 years.
Class – III : Between 7 to 9 years.
Class – IV : Between 8 to 10 years.
Class – V : Between 9 to 11 years.
Class – VI : Between 10 to 12 years.
Class – VII : Between 11 to 13 years.
Class – VIII : Between 12 to 14 years.
Class – IX : Between 13 to 15 years.
Class – X : Between 14 to 16 years.

Method of Admission in Class II to VIII : No admission test for Class II to VIII and the admission may be granted based on Priority Category system (1 to 5 or 6 as the case may be). If applications are more than the number of seats, lottery system will be followed in each category including single girl child quota (Class VI Onwards).

Method of Admission in Class IX : Admission test will be conducted for Class IX and a merit list will be prepared for each category of priority separately. Admission shall be granted in the sequence of priority categories, in the order of merit.

i) Admission test shall be conducted in the following subjects: Hindi, English, Maths, Social Science and Science.
ii) There will be only one paper. Duration of examination is three hours. Total marks for 100 which comprising Hindi, English, Maths, Social Science and Science each of 20 marks.
iii) Candidates must secure 33 percent marks in aggregate to qualify. Students belonging to SC/ST/Divyang category (PH) will be eligible for admission on securing 25 percent in aggregate.

Method of Admissions in Class – XI KV Students:
Admission in different streams, Science, Commerce and Humanities be based on merit up to maximum 55 strength in case of KV students as per availability of streams in the Kendriya Vidyalaya. Choice of stream will be taken from students with parent consent before declaration of merit list. Stream will be allotted on the basis of marks obtained in Class X CBSE Board Examination. Once the seats exhausted in one stream students have to take admission in the other available stream in that Vidyalaya. Undertaking is to be obtained from students before finalization of merit list by KV.

Note: If seats remain vacant in class – XI even after admitting the children of KV I neighboring KVs then the admissions to non- KV children may be granted on the same criteria, in the sequence of categories of priority.

  1. Starting date for online registration for Class-I : 28th February, 2022.
  2. Last date for online registration for Class – I : 21st March, 2022.
  3. Display of List of selected students : 25th March, 2022.
  4. Display of second list : April 1st.
  5. Display of third list : 8th April.
  6. Starting and closing date for registration of online application for Class – II to X : 8th to 16th April.
  7. Display of selected candidates list : 21st April.
  8. Closing date for admission of upto X class : 30th June.

National Book Trust has announced Yuva – Prime Ministers Mentorship scheme to encourage young writers in India. 75 writers from various languages will be selected for scholarship for 6 months. Following are details:

  • Language: Writings can be sent in 22 official languages and also in English
  • Contest period: 01 June – 31 July 2021
  • Stipend: Rs.50000 per month for 6 months
  • Number of scholarships: 75
  • Topics: Unsung heroes, freedom fighters and national movement.
