253 Supernumerary Posts in AP Degree Colleges

The government has sanctioned 253 supernumerary posts in aided degree colleges for teaching, non-teaching staff salaries and other adjustments for merger with government degree colleges.

These include 23 principal, 31 teaching and 199 non-teaching posts. GO 17 was released on April 20 by J. Shyamala Rao, Chief Secretary, Higher Andhra Pradesh Education Department. Owners of 125 aided colleges have agreed to merge their staff with the government as per an earlier policy decision by the state government. Of these, 895 were teaching staff and 1,120 were non-teaching staff.

864 of the teaching staff have been adjusted to the vacant Clear Vacancy posts in various degree colleges. The remaining 31 were sent to newly sanctioned colleges. However they were appointed there in posts not yet sanctioned. Also the 23 principals who merged in the government were not given any posting as there were no vacancies.

921 of the non-teaching staff were adjusted in clear‌ vacancies. The government sanctioned the posts after the college education commissioner proposed that 23 principals, along with the remaining 199 non-teaching staff, and 31 teaching-staff posts need super-numerical posts.

Indian Economic Service (IES‌) – Total vacancies: 24

The Indian Economic Service (IES) is a test that can be used to work in the highest ranks of the Central Financial Services. Candidates can start their careers as Junior Time Scale Officers and gradually reach the top positions.

Selection Procedure and Exam Pattern: The exam consists of two sections. Six papers should be written in Part-1. One thousand marks were allotted for these. General English and General Studies are conducted at the rate of one hundred marks per paper. Including General, Economics, Papers 1, 2, 3; Indian Economics will be a paper. 200 marks are allotted for each paper. Each paper takes 3 hours. The question papers will be in English only. Also the answers should be written in the same language.

Those who qualify in Part-1 will attend the Part-2 interview. 200 marks are allotted for this section. Final appointments will be made on the basis of merit and reservation shown by the candidate for a total of 1200 marks.

Eligibility: Candidates who have completed PG courses in Economics / Applied Economics / Business Economics / Economics / any of these and are currently in final year course can apply.

Age: Must be between 21 and 30 years old by August 1, 2022. I.e. before August 2, 1922; Those born after August 1, 2001 are ineligible.
