NPTI Nangal-Punjab PGDC in Hydro Power Plant Engineering Admissions 2011-12

Here is an excellent opportunity for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students to settle in the career. National Power Training Institute (NPTI), Nangal, Punjab has announced notification for admission into Post Graduate Diploma Course in Hydro Power Plant Engineering for the year 2011-2012. NPTI is the premier institute in the country specialized in power engineering with various specializations. The course is designed in accordance with the mandatory requirements of Indian Electricity (Amendment) Rules 1981. The main goal of this course is to develop technically trained manpower for the recruitment to the Indian Power
Sector. The NPTI has very close relations with Hydro Power companies in the country. So, providing placements for the successful candidates will not be a problem for NPTI. Duration of the course is 39 weeks. Eligibility Requirements: Candidates should have BE /B.Tech Degree in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering Or its equivalent with minimum 60 percent marks. Those candidates appeared for final year examination can also apply with bonafide certificate from concerned institute / College. Their admission will be confirmed only after they produce marks with 60 percent.

Total seats in the course is 40. Selection of the candidates will be through merit (percentage of marks in the qualifying engineering examination). Applicants age should be below 27 years as on 25th July 2011. There will be no age limit for sponsored candidates. Course fee is Rs. 125000. For sponsored candidates, fee is Rs. 140000.

Application Procedure: Interested candidates can obtain / download application format from the NPTI Nangal website www.npti.in and www.nptidelhi.net . Filled in application forms along with fee of Rs. 800 in the form of DD drawn in favour of ‘Hydro Power Training Centre, NPTI, Nangal’ and payable at Nangal should reach ‘Director, National Power Training Institute HPTC, Nangal , Distt. Ropar – 140124 (Punjab). Applications should be enclosed with two passport size photographs and relevant copies of certificates. Application envelope should be superscribed as ‘Application for PGDC Hydro – 2011.

IIM Indore 5 Year PGP in Management Admissions 2011-12

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore has come up with an innovative and full fledged 5 year integrated Post Graduate Program in Management (IPGP). IIM Indore has designed this program for the candidates pursuing / completed intermediate / +2 / higher secondary education across India. The institute announced notification for admission to the program for the year 2011-12. The number of students for the batch is 120. This is the first batch of the program. Following are details of course, eligibility and application procedure:

Eligibility Requirements: General and OBC – NC candidates should have 60 percent marks in Secondary / x standard and also 60 percent in Higher Secondary / Class 12 / +2 level. OR candidates with SAT – 1 score of 1600 out of 2400 are also eligible.

SC, ST and PWD / DA category students will need at least 55 percent marks in Secondary / 10th Class and also should have secured 55 percent marks in Higher Secondary / 12th Class / +2 level. OR candidates need SAT- 1 overall score of 1475 out of 2400. SAT scores should have been obtained during 1st January 2011 – 30th August 2011.
