British Council IELTS Scholarships 2011-2012

The British Council has announced IELTS Scholarship Awards for the year 2011- 2012. British Council will award Rs. 3,00,000 to the students under this scholarship scheme. Indian students willing to study their higher education in overseas can apply for British Council IELTS Scholarship Scheme. The Council will select 8 eligible candidates for the scholarship and award them tuition fees for their studies. IELTS scores are recognized by more than 6000 educational institutions in more than 125 countries across the globe. The IELTS exam is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP IELTS Australia and University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.

Candidates should be willing to pursue Full Time Post Graduate programs in abroad starting from the year 2011. They should possess higher education qualifications that are accepted by the IELTS as part of t he requirements for admission in foreign universities. IELTS is the most popular examination in India as more than 2500 institutions in USA alone are accepting the scores.

Candidates who have taken the most recent IELTS test with the British Council can apply for the scholarship. They should have scored a minimum IELTS band score average of 6.5 to be eligible to apply. Applicants are also required to provide an acceptance letter from the attending institution (where they got admission) by 13th August 2011. Selection will be based on a short presentation and an interview with the panel formed by the British Council.

KSLU 5 Year BA LLB, BBA LLB Admissions 2011-12

Karnataka State Law University (KSLU), Dharwad has announced notification for admission into five year integrated programs in Law conducted by the colleges its purview in the state of Karnataka. The programs offered are BA LLB and BBA LLB (Hons.) for the academic year 2011-2012. Applications can be downloaded from the KSLU website http://www.kslu.ac.in/Circulars/circular_14.pdf . There are hybrid courses made for those interested in legal education and the candidates will get their professional degree along with Bachelors qualification.

Candidates who completed BBA LLB will have double advantage as they will get two professional degrees in a one go. They will get BBA and LLB making their employment chances more brighter. Following are details of the courses, eligibility, selection and application procedure:

1. Integrated BA LLB : Duration is 5 years
2. Integrated BBA LLB: Duration is 5 years.

Eligibility: Candidates should have successfully completed their Intermediate / Senior Secondary Certificate / 10+2 with minimum 45 percent marks. Applicants who have obtained +2 Certificate or First Degree Certificate in distance or correspondence method will also be considered for admission. But candidates who obtained 10+2 qualification through open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification are not eligible for these courses.

Selection Procedure: Selection of candidates to the first year of the 5 year B.A., LL.B. integrated course in all colleges under the jurisdiction of Karnataka State Law University (KSLU), will be based on merit and marks in the qualifying examination.
