The admission process for Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools (KVs) across the country would start from 15th February 2014. The CBSE would issue KV admission guidelines for the academic year 2014-15 and the schools across the country will have to follow these guidelines.
The Government is proposed to reserve 25 percent of seats to Economically Weaker Sections of the Society under EWS category. This will be implemented as per the guidelines of Right to Education Act (RTE) of Central Government. The admission process will be completed by March 2014.
There are 1100 Kendriya Vidyalayas in the country. Out of these 80 KVs are located in NCR region of New Delhi. About 1 lakh students will be admitted in Class I across the country.
The KVs are likely to follow EWS and neighborhood education policy from the year 2014-15. Remaining guidelines will be as per the previous year admission process. It is also decided to do away with entrance test for Class VIII admissions.
